I wonder most times when I hear people invoking curses on evil people. Sometimes I laugh to satisfaction. Why? People are yet to understand that the curses can’t have any effect on them if the way of the invoker is not in alignment with God’s standard. Do you know that the easiest thing to do when you are wronged is to curse? Simply because it’s a shortcut.
The present situation in Nigeria might not be what we ever think it’ll be. Many of us lack deep thoughts, we easily come to conclusion with some things. Do you know it might be from God? Or does it sound strange? I see! Your mindset is God does no evil but good. Right? Kindly restructure your thought. Who create good? Who create evil? Isn’t the same God? That’s to show you that God does evil if need calls for it. Now, if it’s God who engineers it, who do you expect to seal your curses? Does it have effect? Can God confuse himself? Don’t you think you are indirectly passing judgement on others with that action? Do you remember Matthew 7:1? Moreover, you’re indirectly adding to the problem on ground. Let me just tell you this, it’s the evil ones that quickly invoke curses when something happens. People with a clean heart take time before taking step.
There are many occasions in the Bible where God stirred up something similar to this, even greater than this when people reject his commandments. Reading the book of Jeremiah 5 and 6, we will get more light. I am not agitating for continuance of such calamity. However, we need to consider our ways. Those people you think are causing national threat may be fulfilling God’s will while you are cursing them and their generation. You better stop deceiving yourselves.
Let’s consider what God told the people in the time of prophet Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 6:10 (KJV) To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
I want someone to tell me what and what you’ve meet up with from the listed above. Do you hear the warning of God? Tell me, how won’t God be annoyed with people when he confidently said it that you can’t hear him because of your uncircumcised ear? How have you being viewing the word of God? Does it have meaning at all? If you’re doing the right thing, will God say your aren’t? Or is God lying?
I’m sorry for us, instead of retracing where we missed it and do the needful, we feel invoking curses is the possible solution. Have you ever think perhaps your curses could be additional sin and backsliding? In the right sense, I don’t think there’s need for someone who’s morally justified to experience evil. Even if so be, shouldn’t be as great as what we’re experiencing presently. Definitely, something is wrong somewhere.
You call them evil. Yes, that’s exactly what they’re. Sometimes, God use evil people to torment his people when they backslide. Many denominations have been praying, individual too have joined but is there positive turnout? If you continue to pray with a backsliding heart, God might turn away his ears. ( Isaiah 59:1-4). Not just to pray, your prayers need to do with your actions. Moreover, prayers that’s not in conformity with the standard of God might be a waste.
I urge us to read Jeremiah 5 and 6 so to understand this piece properly. Our country’s present state might be the result of our handiwork.
