Hillary strolled into the Beau’s villa later in the evening. She was directed to the garden where grandfather Beau was waiting for her.Grandfather Beau lifted his head up when he heard her heels clicking against the marbled floor of the gazebo.”Good evening Father” Hillary greeted with a smile.That smile she had longed practiced and had always looked unnatural. Hillary hesistated to speak when she observed grandfather’s butler was still standing there.Grandfather Beau glanced at her when he didn’t hear her voice, he slowly followed her gaze which stayed on his butler.He understood her silent gesture, but he couldn’t care less. As far as he was concerned, his butler was far more reliable and far more loyal than this sinister daughter in-law of his.”You can speak” Grandfather Beau said, not bothering to give in to her gesture. He felt more safe with his butler around, because one could not fathom the crazy and devious ideas that runs through this woman’s head. He wouldn’t know if she had decided to kill him.Hillary frowned slightly when she realized her father in-law had no intention of sending his butler away to give them some privacy, but her lips immediately parted to give that familiar smile which he hated so much.She secretively glared at the butler before turning to her father in-law.”I’m here to know the decision you have made regarding the matter we talked about” Hillary said with a small smile.”What matter would that be?” Grandfather asked back, making Hillary crease between her brows.”Oh! you mean the issue about usurping my son’s wealth?” He asked with a hint of mockery.”I…” Grandfather raised his hand to interrupt her.”Is this the reason why you have asked to see me? .Let me be clear with you Hillary, you can’t get what doesn’t belong to you” He said with a serious tone.”I’m not usurping anybody’s properties. If I remember correctly he is just like you, calm and but with a scary mind of his own” Hillary threatened as she sipped her tea while grandfather Beau let out a soft chuckle.”I’m not hiding it from him or his brother, but from this daughter in-law of mine” He said with a smile.”How long do you think you can prevent Henry’s will from bring read?” Hillary asked in a hint of anger in tone as she watched grandfather Beau’s ridiculing smile at her.”As long as you keep clinging to the Beau name and you refuse to repent from what you’ve done and until you face retribution for bringing so much pain to the Beau family” Grandfather said emotionally, making his butler walk up to his side instinctively. He still hasn’t forgotten how Hillary’s argument with the chairman had resulted to him having a cardiac arrest the last time she visited. And he certainly knew that Jake would have his head on a platter, if anything was to happen to his grandfather.”I’m sorry Madam, but the Chairman must have his rest now” Grandfather Beau’s butler said politely, making Hillary glare at him. If looks could kill he’d be a dead a thousand times over.Hillary looked from him to her father in-law.”Father I think you should reconsider, because it’s been six years and my patience is running out” She said before standing up to leave.”Hillary” Grandfather Beau called out to stop her.”For the years you’ve spent with my son as his wife and for the peace for my grandchildren, I can consider increasing your shares by 2% that will make give a total sum of 7%. That’s how far I can go. You can use that to live a good life at least” Grandfather Beau said. Hillary stared at him quietly as if she was considering his idea before letting out a dry laugh.”Grandfather take good care of yourself” She said before walking out.Grandfather sighed exasperatedly, before turning to his butler, “Call Mr Adrian immediately” He said taking his butler by surprise. He couldn’t remember the last time the chairman had asked for Mr Adrian’s services. He could feel a headache coming.__________When Jade alighted from the cab, she was suprised to find Cale waiting in front of her house. She looked at him with a frown as she pondered on his reason for being there. It was obvious from his dishelved look that he had waited for long. She had returned home a little late than usual, because she had to prepare herself for the upcoming battle.Never did Cale come in search of her while they dated. The few times he had dropped by her house, were either to ask for help with work related stuffs, or maybe after she had long pleaded with him to visit her. She had always been the one searching for him. Many times, she had convinced herself that he was busy, thus she’ll always go in search of him and she’d always do the things he couldn’t do because she wanted to make things work. Finding him by her door right now, felt awkward.She started for the door without paying attention to the forlorn guy who was waiting outside her apartment. She wondered if her mother knew there was an unwanted guest waiting outside the house.A smile formed on her lip when she thought about Kelvin’s possible reaction if he met Cale there.”Jade” Cale called out again when Jade walked past like she didn’t seen him. Jade continued her walk to the door without turning to him. She was in the know about Lair’s famous temper, but she had never experienced it. He was really protective of his family and friends, but Jade never thought he’d be this fierce.Lair sighed in resignation when he saw Jade’s terrified look. It was at this point that Jade realized they were the only ones at home. As if on cue, Lair scanned the apartment and asked, “Where’s everyone?””I don’t know. Let me call my mom” Jade rummaged through her bag for her phone. She placed a call to her mom, who informed her she had gone out to get groceries for dinner with Kelvin.”They are out to get groceries” Jade said before walking to the kitchen to get water for herself and Lair.”Thank you” Lair said before gulping down the whole glass.”I needed that” He added feeling refreshed.”Sure you do. After scaring the shit out of me” Jade said rolling her eyes at him.”It was necessary””By the way, why are you here? Why did you come without Amy?” Jade asked.”You dare to ask me that? I told Amy I was going to call you back, I guess I forgot.” Jade said as she lazily lolled herself on the sofa.”You spoke to Amy, and you didn’t pick my calls?” Lair asked with an accusing look as he joined her on the sofa.”Don’t be a jealous brat. This was the first time she had heard Lair flirted or talked with a woman when it wasn’t related to his work. You’ll come running back when you miss me” Lair said as he tried reaching for Jade’s hair to ruffle it, but she docked.”Tch…You wish” Jade rolled her eyes at him.”Whatever” Lair waved as he walked out of the house.”What a bully” Jade murmured.**********Jake smiled when he saw his buddies sitted at the VIP lounge waving at him. He had received a call earlier that they would be hanging out tonight, and most especially Phil was back.”Jake my master” Phil was the first who stood up to greet him. He pulled Jake in for a hug before looking at him with a huge smile plastered on his face.”Welcome back, you Libertine” Jake said with a smile of his own.”Like I didn’t learn from you” Phil replied with a short laugh while the others joined. A long round of greetings and handshaking ensued before they all sat down.Phil sat by Jake as he gave him a look over. Among all five friends Phil was the closest of Jake’s friends. They had this extra layer of friendship that existed between them, maybe it could be because they were distant cousins.”Where’s Blake?” Phil asked curiously. It was common knowledge that the young man like tagging along his elder brother when they went out.”You should ask Rick” Mike replied before Jake could say anything. Phil looked from Mike to Rick.”What did you do to my little man, you jerk?” Phil asked Rick with mock anger.”I didn’t do anything. The young man couldn’t take a joke.
