Saturday passed by slowly and soon it was Sunday, another day for Jade to meet up with Jake. She wasn’t as anxious as she felt yesterday. Not that she was beginning to feel comfortable around the guy. That man still has a bad reputation with women, so she has to be on guard at all time. But for some reason, Jade was beginning to feel that Jake might not as bad as she thought or as the bloggers paint him. For starters, he didn’t do anything to make her uncomfortable, and even his stare wasn’t as awkward as they usually were. Not once did he mention anything about what had happened that night as she has expected him to. His only fault was that he was too picky and he took her whole time. After from that she didn’t see anything unusual.About two days ago, she had read a few articles about how formidable Jake was in the business industry. About how scary he was when dealing with partners and staffs, so much that no one dares to cross his path. But yet there was one side of him that taintewas d that almost perfect reputation of the King of Tech.Jade had thought that Jake’s reputation might have been perfect, if he hadn’t decided to a promiscuous fellow. She got out of bed and went about her weekend morning routine, which involved helping her mother out with the chores. She helped her Grace in making breakfast which they all ate happily.Jake had called to inform her earlier that they won’t be having their session until later in the day. Jade was ecstatic about the piece of news. She was able to have a hearty breakfast, unlike yesterday when she had starved all day.Meanwhile at the other side of the city, Jake had a gloomy look on his face as he walked his grandfather to the laboratory to get his test done. Grandfather dragged along with his lips pouted. He has been telling Jake that he was fine and that breaking his diet wasn’t going to cause him any harm, but Jake wouldn’t hear of it.”Jake I’m not sick. It was just one meal” He said for what seemed like the hundredth time. Jake continued walking without listening to him.”Fine go, I’m not going” Grandfather stubbornly said as he plonked himself on one of the waiting seats in the hallway. Jake paused and turned to him, his gaze was stern and cold. Grandfather quickly turned his face away to avoid that threatening look. He couldn’t believe he was being scolded by his own grandson and sincerely he was a bit frightened by him.”Grandfather!” Jake called in a calm and cold tone.”No I’m not going” He muttered with his hands folded across his chest as he continued staring in the opposite direction.”Grandfather believe I would carry you across my shoulder if you don’t move””You wouldn’t dare. I’m your grandfather. Grandfather” Grandfather Beau exclaimed. How could his own grandson bully and threaten him in such a manner.”Exactly why I’m going to carry you if you keep being stubborn” Jake said still staring at the grumpy old man.”I’m not being stubborn. I mean it when I said I’m fine. It’s just one meal and you’re just being paranoid. I won’t go” Grandfather insisted.”One meal? You knew you are supposed to stay off such food but you ate it anyway, because you wouldn’t care what happens to you after that. What about Blake who you sent to get you that food? Do you think he’ll be okay if something happens to you? Do you think I’ll be okay if I fail in my responsibility of taking care of you? I failed with dad but certainly not with you. Now stand up before I strap you to a wheel chair and wheel you there!” Jake said angrily. He couldn’t believe his grandfather would neglect his health just for something trivial.Grandfather Beau couldn’t say a word as he stared at Jake. He always knew Jake carried the guilt of his father’s death in his heart. The boy has always being regretful for neglecting his father’s health, even though he was still a young boy at the time. Jake was just be cautious and he didn’t want to make the same mistake as he did before, but that wasn’t his mistake but his father’s. Henry, Jake father had kept the fact that he was having health complications from his family and they only discovered it when he had that cardiac arrest that killed him.Grandfather Beau sighed. “But i really hate those needles” He complained with a sad pout.”You should have thought about that before ordering a high fat saturated meal” He said, his eyes still as cold.”Fine” Grandfather Beau yielded as he stood up from his seat. He grumpily pushed pass Jake and walked ahead with a frown on his face. He was really regretting his decision of eating that food in the living room. He should have eaten it in his bedroom as he usually did. Now he just has to go through the test to put Jake’s heart to rest.Soon they were both done at hospital. Jake had met with cardiologist who was handling his grandfather’s case, and he had assured him that he was okay. Not that there has been any improvement but at least he was stable and should therefore adhere to the lifestyle modification outlined for him.Although Jake has been assured that his grandfather was fine, he still couldn’t get past his anger. He could understand that his grandfather could act childish sometimes given his age and personality, and he could sympathize with him given that his favorite kinds of food had been removed from his meal plan, he still couldn’t understand why Blake could have been so stupid to allow their grandfather expose himself to such risk. He expected Blake to have acted differently, he should have been able to do the right thing instead of aiding his grandfather.Jake held his grandfather by the arm as they both walked out of the hospital. They were still walking down the hallway, when Jake heard his name. The voice sounded familiar and he could already feel his blood rage just by the sound of that voice. He lifted his head up and he felt blood rush to his head, his hands clenched into a fist and he could feel his tight grind in their own accord.Jake was instantly filled with rage when he saw the face he hated most in this world. He subconsciously let go of his grandfather’s arm and slowly walked towards the figure standing feets away from.Kyle could already feel his legs give way, threatening to let him down in the next unfortunate second. He could feel his heart thump wildly against his chest. His brain was beginning to cuss at him for making himself known to Jake. He knew Jake has been out to harm him, if possible kill him. And now he just delivered himself in a platter to Jake.”Ja..ake” Kyle stammered as he took a step back. Cold sweat broke out on his face. Something in him wanted him to stand firm and receive whatever punishment Jake dishes out for him, but deep down he knew he’d be dead before he fully receives it. If his punishment was death, he was sure he deserved it.”Jake…I’m sorry” Kyle pleaded with fear. But Jake didn’t say a word. His eyes were locked on Kyle and they were filled with anger, pain, and betrayal. Jake drew close and held him by his collar. His fist was about to land on Kyle when he felt someone hold his arm.Jake turned to see his grandfather holding his arm tightly. “Jake let him go. This isn’t the time or place” Grandfather Beau said.Jake looked at his grandfather silently, before returning his gaze back to Kyle. His eyes were blood shot, and he could feel adrenaline pump through his veins.Jake reluctantly let go of Kyle. He gave him one last look before storming with his grandfather tailing behind.”G..rand…father” Kyle called with a quavering voice, as he held onto the old man’s sleeve.Grandfather Beau stopped on his track, and looked at Jake’s back as he angrily walked away.”You’ve lost all the right to call me that. And if you must stay in this country, try you best to be invisible before my family” Grandfather Beau warned before pulling his hand from Kyle.Kyle felt devastated by grandfather’s word, but he could nod. He knew what was waiting for him, if he were to return back to the country. He had broken the family trust -his family trust, and there was no one to blame but himself. Is it possible for him to seek forgiveness?Grandfather Beau sighed deeply before walking away. He had a feeling that trouble was coming soon.~~~~~”Bro, wait!” Yelled a panting Blake who was running towards Jake. He had received a call from Jake asking him to come take their grandfather home. Jake continued on his strides without taking a moment to look at Blake.”Jake wait, I’m sorry” Blake apologized as he pulled Jake by his forearm when he got close to him. Jake turned to look at Blake then at his arm which was been held.”I said I’m sorry” Blake apologized sincerely. He has been at this since yesterday, but Jake had refused to listen to him. One thing he didn’t like was his brother staying mad at him, he can never endure it. He understood perfectly why his brother was mad at him. He has truly behaved badly.”Take grandfather home” Jake said in a cold tone. He didn’t know if he was still angry at Blake or if it was something else that was probably riling him up right now. Jake freed his hand from Blake’s grip and started to walk away. He had only taken a few steps when he suddenly paused, and Blake felt anxious suddenly, when he saw him turn to look him with a ferocious gaze in his eyes.”You knew he was back, didn’t you?” Jake asked more like a statement. He was sure Blake must have seen him, since he was certain that Kyle would come seek him out whenever he returned to the country. This has been the reason why he has never gone in search of Kyle, because he knew he’d deliver himself without him looking.”Who?” Blake asked in confusion.”Kyle” Jake replied. Blake heart skipped a beat. His mouth was gape but no words came out of it. He couldn’t deny it neither could he accept that he had seen Kyle. Blake continued staring at Jake in stupefaction. How did Jake know about Kyle’s return? Was this going to worsen his problem with Jake? Why didn’t that fool listen to him and avoided showing up before Jake?Jake’s hands clenched into a fist, and his anger intensified when Blake didn’t deny the fact that he had seen Kyle. Jake turned away and continued on his tracks.”Jake” Blake panicked, he understood that look in Jake’s eyes. He wanted to run after him, but stopped when someone gripped his hand tightly, surprised to see it was his grandfather who was shaking his head telling him not to.”Leave him son” Grandfather said.”B-but””He’ll come back when he’s a bit calm” Grandfather Beau assured him. “Let’s go home” He added, patting his back lightly. Blake nodded his head obediently. He gazed at his brother retreating figure and he felt a pang in his heart. Jake was carrying too much guilt, too much burden, and too responsibility. He wants to help his brother but he doesn’t know how too.Jake has hurt too much in this passing years, after their father’s death. He carried the guilt that he brought the devil who killed their father in to their home. He hasn’t stopped blaming himself for their father’s demise. His only wish was for his brother to learn to forgive himself and find true happiness someday.Blake sighed exasperatedly before leading his grandfather out of the hospital.Jake hopped into his car, he floored the gas pedal and the car zoomed of in full speed. His thoughts were wandering everywhere. He couldn’t help but think how he had brought Kyle into his family. How they have all accepted him, treated him like a family. He became more than a friend to him. Even his father and grandfather had accepted him as their son, and what did he do in return? Kyle betrayed them in the worst way possible, he knew their father was sick but he still betrayed him in such a way that he died, of an heart attack.Jake’s eyes were icy, there was so much pain, so much hatred, so much hurt and self guilt burning in them and he could feel his temperature rise as these feelings seeped throw his body. He kept driving aimlessly, with no destination in mind. All he wanted right now, was to turn the car around and head back to the hospital, luckily he could still find Kyle there. His hands just wants to him, not just hit him, but kill him. Even though his mind keeps telling him nothing would come out of him killing Kyle, his father won’t return back from his grave but he just can’t let go. The weight of Kyle’s betrayal was too much for him, and it was eating him up. Kyle broke his trust and he hasn’t been the same since then.He needed some sort of distraction at the moment, anything to take his mind away from wanting to kill Kyle at the moment. As if the heavens were in support of this, his phone started ringing. Jake was almost not interested in picking up his phone, but he decided to see who was calling him anyway. He was astounded when he saw the name on display on his phone screen. He has almost forgotten that he had an appointment with Jade Walker.Silently staring at the phone, Jake couldn’t decide if he should take her calls or not. Was he really in the right frame of mind to be with her right now? Something inside his heart was beginning to yearn to see her. Should he go or should he not? Jake didn’t want to affect her with his mood. But wait, since when did he start considering things like this? Jake was still lost in his thoughts and he didn’t realize he had answered the phone.”Hello, Mr Beau are you there?” Came Jade’s voice for what seemed like the upteenth time. Jake jerked back to reality when he heard her speak.”Yeah, I’m here” He replied.”Well, I didn’t know when you’ll be ready, but I wanted to check with you if we’re still on for today. I-I wouldn’t like to go when it’s late, so I won’t come back home at night” Jade commented in a slowy and sluggish way, like she was been careful not to anger this man. Jake kept quiet for a couple of seconds, he was still contemplating if he should go, or probably cancel for the day.”Mr Beau?” Jade called when she didn’t get a respond from him.”Sure, I’ll be on my way now” Was all he could say.”Okay. I’ll be at the bus stop””Sure” He replied before Jade dropped the call from her end. Jake at his phone for a while, a myriad of thoughts were running through his mind at the moment and he doesn’t know how to go about them.First, there was Kyle who has suddenly popped out from nowhere and he wanted nothing more than to kill him and Hillary, who has been lurking around trying to undermine his authority. Those evil spawn, just decided to show up at the same time.Secondly, there was Jade, the enigma in his current self. She has some how created a tornado in his heart and he still hasn’t figured why she has such an effect on him. Recently he keeps finding himself doing things he has never done before or thought about before. He turned on his ignition and started for the bus stop. Soon he was there and as usual he saw Jade sitting on the bench with her phone in hand. ‘Is this girl that addicted to her phone?’ He asked himself.Yesterday, the only time Jade had dropped her phone was when they had started playing the game, and even on their way back she was still glued to it.Jake stopped the car in front of her and honked to gain her attention. Jade slipped her phone into her bag and joined him in the car.”Good afternoon Mr Beau” Jade greeted courteously.”Good afternoon” Jake replied back.”Buckle up” he added before he started driving. Jade nodded. She couldn’t help but admire the car Jake has driven in today. She nodded her head in acknowledgement of the guys taste in cars. The drive to the gamehouse was a quiet one, and Jade soon realized that they were driving in the same direction as yesterday. Driving to that gamehouse was going to take them a long time, about an hour and it would equally take the same time to return. If they were to add the four hours of the day’s session, they were bound to rebound to return when it was dark.Jade turned to Jake, to ask him if they could probably pick a closer gamehouse. But for some reason she couldn’t say those words out when she observed her grave his countenance was. On the few occasions she had seen Jake, she could tell there was something different about him today. Jade could tell something was amidst. Instead of asking of asking the question in mind she said, “Mr Beau do you want to cancel for today?” making Jake snappily turned towards her. Why was she saying that?”Why do you say that?” Jake asked before returning his attention to the road ahead.”Well I’m sorry but it seems like you’re angry. You can cancel for the day and we could do this next week” Jade suggested. As much as she’d love to be done with the so called 168 hours, she also knew whatever she’d teach him today would be useless if he was absentminded.Jake looked at her again, it seems this little lady was quite observant. He was really trying his best to keep himself calm, and he wouldn’t lie since he saw her sitting by the bus stop, some”Well I am, but isn’t that the most reason to do something fun?” Jake asked as he gazed at her again. Jade fell into a silent thought. She thought about Jake’s words yesterday. He had said he wanted to learn how to play a game because he considered it fun right? And right now, he was still finding it difficult to handle a console. So what if she taught him something else. Something that doesn’t require a console?”Mr Beau what if I can cheer you up in 2 hours would you consider it a day?” Jade asked anxiously. Jake gazed at her silently like he was considering her offer. It seems this girl was trying to be smart with him. Would it really be that easy to cheer him up and forget his thoughts?”Okay” Jake replied. He sure wasn’t going to make it that easy for her.
