I smiled as I faced Ric and Ria. “You both know that it’s absolutely horrible to become poor after being wealthy. Becoming rich in most cases involves a lot of hard work, patience, time and most importantly willing helpers.
After Uriana took everything from me and I became wretched, I couldn’t feed my children, they dropped out of school and I cited financial reasons as their primary cause for leaving.
After two years of struggling to survive, I was angry and frustrated, but most of all, I felt utterly, completely helpless. It was the first and only time I went to a bar down the street and then I met Boss
I sat quietly and cried until I was too tired to cry more. A gentle hand touched my shoulder and I looked up to see a tall young man staring down at my face
“I could see that you’ve been crying. What’s the matter?” He spoke softly
“I can’t feed my twins. I’m concerned about their health, wellbeing and ultimate survival. My twins are not eating enough to sustain healthy development” I told him
He studied me thoughtfully for a minute before he spoke up. “I understand that raising twins can be more challenging but I love twins”
He pulled a business card from his pocket that listed the location of his company, he handed out the card to me and left
I held the card with my two hands, when I got home my kids had slept without food. I laid down beside them and wrapped an arm around them holding them tightly against me
The next morning I got up early and went to his company. He told me that he would help me just because of my twins. So he taught me how to produce wine and I worked with him as an assistant.
After two years, he lent me some money to start up a business. When I made enough money to sustain operations and a profit, I decided to pay the debt but he told me to re-invested the profit on a previous investment for future growth
I wanted to know more about him but he told me that there was no need that he had a wife and a beautiful daughter. I can never forget who helped me out when my life was in shambles” I slow down and paused.
Ria wiped a tear from her face with a thumb as she gazed into Richard’s eyes. She murmured “thank you” and hugged him. Ric also thanked him and walked out of the room, he looked so sad and tired. I knew Ric hated recalling of experiences long past and gone because he always pictured the sad scene which would bring an image and idea from the past into his mind
A few moments later, Ric came back with Aaliyah in his arms and dropped her on Richard’s laps. She glanced up and she was frightened to see her father. She jumped up, as if she’d seen a ghost. A look of pained yearning crossed her face, as if she wanted badly to speak but couldn’t.
Richard reached down and grabbed her by the arms, pulling her up into his lap.
“Starlight, I’m happy to set my eyes on you, happy that you are here with me now” Richard said.
When he welcomed her with a hug, she lowered her head and burst into tears. He gave her a big cuddled and lifted her face for his affection.
