AUTRY APARTMENT
Autry and Ruby were both seated in the dining room having their breakfast and enjoying it silently
Ruby had grown quiet fond of Autry lately. She liked to be around him, playing with him anytime he was around
Autry was very hardworking, although she didn’t know what he does for a living but she was convinced that he wasn’t into any illegal business
He was so caring and loving, Ruby had thought that only Chester had all the qualities she wanted in a man but she realized that Autry had similar attributes to that of her brother
“I enjoyed your cooking precious, this is great, the food is delicious, you keep improving everyday and I’m so proud of you,” Autry praised her
Ruby had been silent as she was deeply engrossed in thought, and upon hearing his voice she startled abruptly
Autry held her hand and gave her a hand-kiss
“Precious are you okay?” He quizzed
Looking at her, her face was gloomy and absent- minded. He cared so much about her and he hated seeing her looking moody.
“Hope I’m not forcing you to do the house chores and the cooking?” Autry asked
He thought she was moody maybe because she had been doing the house chores lately
“Not at all Autry, you don’t force me to do it, I’m doing it because I enjoyed cooking for you. I also want to be responsible just like you, thank you for teaching me how to cook and do the house chores, Ruby said sincerely
“I’m happy you like doing it, I thought you would find it difficult to learn since you’re from a rich home but you surprised me,” Autry smiled at her
He was really impressed that Ruby could be patient enough to learn how to cook unlike his ex-girlfriend who couldn’t even eat his home made food
Ruby frowned her face and stared at Autry, then asked him what had been bothering her mind
“Am I ugly? Don’t I look attractive to you?”
She had tried everything for Autry to notice her but it seemd she doesn’t look attractive to him, she liked Autry and she wanted him to propose to her
“Precious you’re beautiful and attractive. Why did you ask?” Autry looked at Ruby and saw tears rolling down her cheeks
He dropped the spoon in his hand and hugged her as her head rested on his shoulder
“You don’t have to cry Precious, I understand your feelings, I was only scared to fall in love again but I’m ready to make you mine,” Autry confessed
Ruby lifted her head from his shoulder, she glanced up and smiled
“You love me?”
“Yes, I love you and I’m serious about it but can you cope with my lifestyle? You are already used to living a luxury lifestyle, what if you marry me and I couldn’t provide everything you needed. Won’t there be a problem?” Autry gaze became wary as he spoke softly
“Autry I love you the way you’re, I’m contented with what you have. I’m not the type that fancy luxury lifestyle. My dad and Chester bought most of my clothes and jewelries
Did you see me putting on any jewelry since have been staying with you? That is to tell you that I’m not used to it
I don’t love you for riches, I love you for who you are. I’m even comfortable staying with you in this Apartment. I want you to forget that my Dad is rich, let’s focus on ourselves please,” Ruby poured out her mind
“Precious are you sure of your decision?” Autry asked
“Very sure!” Ruby smiled and hugged him tightly, her face flamed with excitement
“Check your phone your brother is calling,” Autry notified Ruby
She pulled away from the hug and picked her call

“What is the problem?” Autry asked immediately Ruby hung up the phone
“Chester said that Dad is sick and he has refused to eat and take medication,” Ruby answered
“That is serious, you should go and see him. I will drop you off when you are ready,” Autry offered
Ruby mouthed “Thank you” and started packing the used dishes while Autry followed her to the kitchen as they both washed the dishes together
