END TIME

By Apostle Irawo Ogo

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Before we can talk about the end of something, we need to first consider the beginning of it. Time has a beginning and also has an end. Time started by God at creation. In the book of Genesis chapter 1, we’ll see two clear type of time: EVENING and MORNING which form each days. Meaning that we have evening time and morning time.

There are different times we experience in life. That is, everything that exist both animals, plants, mountains, valleys, plains, climate among others will experience time. God told us some of the time that exists.

Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

More of times are listed elsewhere in the Bible.

Ecclesiastes 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Let’s not be confused. Yes, there are different times but the clear fact is that the beginning time and the end time open and close all the existing time.

Let’s now discuss about the end time. The end time simply refer to the time when every other times will cease to exist. It’s otherwise called the second coming of our Lord or THE DAY OF THE LORD. The Bible tells us that the day of the Lord is so close.

Ezekiel 30:3 For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen.

The disciples of Jesus were curious about the end time. They came to Jesus privately to know the exact time the world will end.

Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

If we read the above chapter forward, Jesus didn’t disclose the end time but diligently explain the signs that will usher the end time. Why? He understands the nature of man; they’ll want to wait and see that very day. If they know, they’ll stop their wicked acts when the time is close. The time is confidential. He doesn’t want any controversial issues to occur. So, he said in verse 6 that THE END IS NOT YET.

Matthew 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Which gospel? Gospel of Christ. It’ll be preached across the world so that no one will be exempted. No one will be ignorant of the kingdom of God. So, everyone will be held responsible for any decision he takes to eternal destruction or eternal life. Jesus said it’s then the end shall come. Let’s get it clear. The statement didn’t tell us that’s the end time but the end will still come after all these things.

No one knows the end time.

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Why is it that only God know about the end time? This is because God himself is the beginning and the end.

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

The reason no one can know the end time is because no one knows the beginning of God (we only read about the beginning of creation). Remember, God have been existing before then. In similar vein, no one can know the end of God. Remember, God will still be in existence when the world end.

Conclusively, let’s be worry-free, and keep calm about the end time. We should be more focused on living a life pleasing to God always. Our curiosity has nothing to do with inheriting God’s kingdom. Since we understand now that God alone knows the day and hour, definitely our preference is to know and have that God in us.

Prayer
God who is the beginning and the end. I desire to know and have you in my life because it’s only you that know the day and hour everyone is curious to know. Come and reign in my life henceforth in Jesus name. Amen.
