BEST MAN RESTAURANT
Henley was sitting quietly with his secretary in a restaurant, glancing through a magazine. A while later, he glanced at his watch and his brows furrowed.
He shifted his gaze from the journal to his secretary, placing his hands on his knees and he leaned towards her, then he asked
“Why is the client not here yet, don’t you tell her the time we are suppose to meet?”
“She actually picked the time we are to meet, she’s aware of this meeting boss, let’s wait a little bit for her maybe she will show up,” Henley’s secretary tried to persuade her boss
Henley tried to reason with her as he took a little sip of his drink and started pressing his phone.
He noticed a sound of footsteps grew closer to them, he slowly turned and heard a familiar voice
“Good morning, I’m so sorry for coming late, It wasn’t intentional”
“Itzel?”
“Henley?”
They both chorused each other’s names. They were both speechless with amazement.
Smiling at the dumbfounded look on their faces as their eyes widened and their mouth fell slack.
“You’re the client I have been waiting for,” Henley muttered as Itzel took a seat opposite Henley
“I guess Henley, what are you doing in Sydney?” Itzel asked
“I should be the one asking you that question rainbow, you just disappeared after we finished High school in Ottawa, I searched for you but I couldn’t find you,” Henley said
“Oh… Henley, you haven’t stop calling me Rainbow,” Itzel blushed as she bit her lips shyly, then she began to explain everything to Henley.
“I’m sorry for leaving Ottawa without informing you. I wasn’t aware that we will relocate to Sydney, it just happened all of a sudden and I have to comply with my parents
I didn’t want to leave but there was nothing I could have done to stop my parents decision
I went to the college here in Sydney and I’ve been managing my father’s company since two years ago
Knowing that your company produces the best electronics gadgets, I have to write a proposal to your company so that you will supply me a quality gadgets, I don’t even know that you’re the CEO of Ryder Wright electronics Company”
Henley nodded his head in understanding and broke into one of his broad, beaming smile, he was so excited to see his high school crush again. Lucky meeting her was a happy occurrence
“I thought as much, because I searched everywhere in Ottawa and since I couldn’t find you I concluded that you’ve relocated to another country
Nice to meet you again Rainbow, actually I just came back to Sydney couple of weeks ago to take over my father’s company,” Henley stated
He covered his hands with hers and looked into her eyes
“I like to look into your eyes when we converse, hope you won’t run away from me again this time around?” Henley leaned forward and whispered in her ear.
“Henley stop! Don’t you have a girlfriend?” Itzel felt herself blushing and quickly looked away.
“I was waiting for my rainbow to come back to me and here you are, seated in my front looking more beautiful than when we were in High school,” Henley said
“Henley don’t forget that I’m here for a business proposal,” Itzel reminded him of the major reason for her presence at the restaurant.
“Okay…. Will you go on a date with me?” at least to have enough time to talk about ourselves,” Henley suggested
“Sure, I will be available tonight by 7pm,” Itzel didn’t think twice before responding
“Now, back to the business, my secretary will give you the company’s account details and anytime you’re ready, we will be at your service, Henley told Itzel
He stood up and gave her a warm hug, he walked out of the restaurant leaving Itzel and his secretary behind to continue with the deal
