Josh sat down on the royal chair in his room, he looked at Nyra scornfully for few minutes, his face and attitude showed the scorn he felt
“Why are you here?” Josh asked nonchalantly
Nyra looked at Josh’s face nervously, obviously he wasn’t happy to see her and it was all her fault
The same man that can’t do without her, now feeling irritated by her presence
“I’m here to see you Josh,” Nyra managed to find her voice
“Really? I thought you left me, why did you come back?” Josh was already losing his temper
He doesn’t want to remember how he begged Nyra not to break up with him just because of long distance relationship
Josh loved and cherished Nyra so much, she was everything to Josh
Four months ago, Nyra’s family decided to relocate to another city. She thought she won’t be able to cope without seeing Josh in a day, so she broke up with him
Josh begged her that he will always try to visit her but Nyra doesn’t like a long distance relationship, she left Josh and traveled with her family
Josh was heartbroken when Nyra left him until he met Greta recently and fall in love again
“I’m sorry Josh, you know that I loved you and I still do, I couldn’t cope with a long distance relationship,” Nyra whispered, Josh hardly hear what she said
“I don’t know why you came back to Maldives but if you are here for us to be together, have it in mind that it can’t be possible, I have a girlfriend,”Josh uttered, his gaze fixed on Nyra
“I….I, Josh ….. ” Nyra couldn’t put her words together, she doesn’t know how to break the news to Josh not when he looked so angry and uninterested. She breathe in deeply and closed her eyes
“I’m pregnant Josh,” she rushed her words, her eyes were still closed, she had no courage to look into Josh’s eyes and break the news to him
“What? don’t play a prank on me Nyra, I’m not in the mood for that,” Josh hissed, as he kept shaking his leg on the chair
“I’m serious Josh, I didn’t know I was pregnant, I had no pregnancy symptoms, no morning sickness or dizziness. It was last week that I realized that I’m pregnant when my tummy looks bigger than before, I doubtfully did a pregnancy test and it was positive, I don’t have a boyfriend since I left this city,” Nyra spoke tearfully as she bought out a small envelope and gave it to Josh
Josh tore the envelope and brought out the pregnancy report, he carefully read it and Nyra was truly four months gone
“But I have a girlfriend Nyra, you don’t expect me to break up with her because you’re pregnant for me. I’m very sure that you won’t come back to me, if you’re not pregnant,”Josh said
He dropped the paper on the table and leaned his back on the royal chair, sitting comfortably with one leg over the other.
Nyra fell on the floor and began to weep loudly, her face buried in her palms
Queen Mabel stood by the door, eavesdropping on their conversation. Queen Mabel had secretly followed Josh and Nyra upstairs, she knew both of them love each other and she also like Nyra for Josh but there was nothing Queen Mabel could do when Nyra left the city with her family
She was happy to see Nyra again and decided to listen to their discussion
Queen Mabel pushed the door open and entered the room, she eyed her son angrily and rushed towards Nyra, she pulled her up and hugged her tightly, patting her back gently
“You don’t have to cry Nyra, my grandchild will be born in this palace, I will inform the King about the pregnancy and we will visit your family very soon to do the needful,” Queen Mabel assured Nyra
“Mum!” Josh wanted to protest but the glare he received from his mother shut him up
Queen Mabel pulled Nyra gently towards the bed and told her to lie down
She did accordingly and wiped the tears on her cheeks, Queen Mabel covered her body with a duvet, stroking her hair tenderly
Josh was dumbfounded by her mother’s strange behavior, he just kept staring at the two women on his bed
Few minutes later, Nyra was already snoring softly on the bed, she looked so peaceful in her sleep, Queen Mabel smiled and kissed her forehead before she stood up from the bed
“If anything happen to my grandchild, you will regret ever knowing me as your mother, you had better start taking responsibility,” Queen Mabel gave Josh a stern warning and walked out of the room.
