Chester sat on the curve 3-seater Velvet sofa in his room as he was working on his laptop
He had called the company’s secretary to notify her of his absence at the office
He picked his phone to call Henley when he heard a knock on the door
Dropping the phone on the table, he wore his mask and went to open the door to see Bonita standing by the door
The stored tears in her eyes continued to flow and the sob wrecked her body, robbing it of the ability to speak, barely allowing a breathe to be drawn
Chester pulled her into his arms and hugged her, patting her back softly
She dashed the tears from her eyes with her shortsleeves as Chester released her from his arms
“What is the problem with you?” Chester demanded
Bonita swallowed hard, not wanting to break down in front of him again
Her hope of going to the college had been shattered, she wouldn’t be able to save money to rent an apartment for her mother in the city
She would have to go back to her one room apartment where she stayed with her mother
Bonita sighed and gazed up at him as she raked her fingers through her hair
“I have been sacked, I’m here for my salary,” Bonita replied as she managed to get her emotions under control
“Who dismissed you?” Chester raised his eyebrows in disbelief not believing what Bonita had just said
“Your Dad”
They heard someone knocking on the door and Chester opened it to see who was there
Greta smiled and hugged Chester as she entered into his room, placing a kiss on his forehead
“You like giving me a surprise visit pretty, what if you don’t meet me at home,” Chester said
“Actually I’m coming from your office, I was told you won’t be coming to the office today,” Greta smiled and stared at Bonita
“Anyways, you look fascinating, Chester complimented her beauty
“Thank you Chester,” Greta blushed as she waved at Bonita
Bonita bowed to her slightly and forced a smile
“Welcome miss Greta”
Chester opened his drawer, brought out a bundle of money and gave it to Bonita with his complimentary card
Bonita looked at the money in her hand and gulped down nervous saliva
The money in her hand was five times of her salary, she couldn’t hide the surprise on her face
“Master Chester this is not my salary,” Bonita thought maybe he made a mistake
“I know Bonita, the money is yours, you can call me if you need anything,” Chester spoke calmly and dismissed her before she could say anything else
Greta smiled at Chester, she knew that he was kind but she was surprised that he was also generous
After Bonita had left, Greta sat on his laps and placed her hand on his chest, caressing it tenderly
“please can I see your face? I promise not to hurt you. I’m now your girlfriend and I love you. I want you to trust me pleaseeeeee … ” Greta pulled a face as she pleaded
She wanted to know how her boyfriend looked like, that was the major reason why she’d visited him
Chester chuckled and touched her cheeks
“Should I remove it? Please Chester I love you…”
“You’re permitted,” Chester granted her a permission and Greta quickly removed the mask, and gasped
“Maddox!” She stood up from his laps
“I thought you are still in Ottawa since I didn’t see your call”
Greta couldn’t believed her eyes, she couldn’t explain how she was feeling. She had a mixed emotions of disappointment and happiness
She was disappointed because he changed his name and pretended not to have met her before but she was happy that her boyfriend was cute, but that wasn’t the time to acknowledge his cuteness
She was not pleased with what he did, he had been lying to her and even changed his name which she foolishly believed him because she loved him
“Chester or should I call you Maddox you’re nothing but a deceiver. I don’t think this relationship mean anything to you, if you truly love me like you’ve said, you won’t lie to me and deceived me about your identity. I hate liars and deceivers like you, I hate you,” Greta uttered and without waiting for his response, she walked out of the room
Chester looked at her retreating figure and shook his head, confused of what to do at the moment
He looked towards the door of his room when he noticed someone entered
