The crowd was mammoth and there was no way he could find his way through.
Not only was the crowd mammoth, he was blind. If he wasn’t blind maybe he would have found a way to the man many were saying had the hand of God.
He heard the man had healed the sick, made the blind see, made the lame walk, even rose the dead. That meant He could heal him of his blindness.
As the crowd thronged after him, Barthimaeus knew he had to gain this man’s attention. He thought about what way…
It clicked!
Praise Him…
Others were just shouting Jesus! Jesus!. He had to go a step higher, he had to acknowledge who He was. ” JESUS! SON OF DAVID!” Barthimaeus cried out ” Have Mercy on me!”
That made Jesus stop! Someone had acknowledged him as the Messiah. Why was it important to Christ to be acknowledged as the Messiah? The answer is that the Messiah was the fulfillment of the prophecy of the seed of David (2 Samuel 7:12–16). Jesus is the promised Messiah, which means He had to be of the lineage of David.
Primarily, the title “Son of David” is more than a statement of physical genealogy. It is a MESSIANIC title. When people referred to Jesus as the Son of David, they meant that He was the long-awaited Deliverer, the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies.
Blind Barthimaeus calling Him “Son of David,” expressed his faith that He was the Messiah( Deliverer)
That Caught Jesus’ attention and that led to his healing in that mammoth crowd…
Why don’t you call God a name that expresses your faith in Him , that way He shows up for you.
