HUMILITY AND PRIDE: (MINISTRATION)

By Apostle Irawo Ogo

We need to know this fact that humility and pride exist among ministers. Some ministers intimidates others just because God gave them utterances or because they’re charismatic or simply because they excel more than them. They boast because God gave them knowledge and understanding. The spirit of pride dwell in them richly such that they couldn’t control themselves. The forgot the fact is that GOD GAVE THEM ALL THESE THINGS, none is their initiative.

One of the greatest things that brings a fall and total destruction is PRIDE, especially in the things of God. God don’t joke with his things, he can destroy people within the twinkle of an eye. Some aren’t assigned for certain ministrations but they’ll just decide to compete out of envy and jealousy. They see themselves as qualified without endorsement. Consider the sons of Aaron.

Leviticus 10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

Just like some of us, we always think we can minister better than others; we believe we’re second to none. Evangelists and prophets are fond of this. Some preachers don’t listen to other preachers especially when the person hasn’t make a name. They want others to listen to them alone. My dear, you’re almost into the pit of destruction because if your word is too much, you’ll say nonsense and you’ll be judged by it.

Ecclesiastes 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

You see, pride is like a spell, anybody under it isn’t free. The funny part is that one may see the right thing to do, yet argue until one does the wrong thing. Pride come with conspiracy. No humble being that’ll ever think of conspiration.

Numbers 16:1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:
2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:
3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

These three men weren’t aware of the consequences of their action but they became scapegoats. Ministrations need humility so as to prosper in the ministry.

Prayer
God, the maker of everything. Give me the humble spirit to flourish in the ministry.
