Part 2
I used to think i wasn’t cut out for business. I dwelled so much on this belief that it became my reality.
I would even tell people with confidence, “I don’t just think i am the business type. I’m more of the career lady.”
People amplified this by reinforcing my belief. Remember the saying about people calling you what you call yourself?
Yes, it’s true. People will call you what you call yourself. It took me a while to realize that this mindset of mine was a limiting belief and i had to break free.
I started with books. I exposed my mind to knowledge and information that unsettled this wrong mindset.
Then i moved to exposing my mind to possibilities. Possibilities that proved this unusual mindset and related beliefs wrong.
Over the years, i have observed that this problem wasn’t peculiar to me. Alot of people carry limiting mindsets about themselves, business, money, people, e.t.c
What is your limiting mindset?
What is that wrong thing you have come to believe about yourself over the years?
You see, limiting beliefs are fed by over-familiarity with our comfort zones. We get so used to how things have been or how we have been that unfamiliar or new grounds look like a failed mission to us.
Hence, we rarely try new things or opportunities just because they are alien to us and we think we wouldn’t do well in them. I weakened my limiting mindsets. You can do the same. How?
*School your mind.*
School your mind by exposing it to information and realities that destabilizes every wrong mindset you bear.
Don’t get comfortable with mindsets that limit what you can do or dream of.
The truth is- if you don’t form the habit of schooling your mind, your mind will constantly dictate what you can or cannot do.
