I went to sleep last night, almost as soon as my head hit the pillow. I hadn’t been able to sleep in four days, even though I was exhausted but couldn’t sleep a wink.Thank goodness I fell fast into a deep, peaceful slumber.
I turned and looked at Aaliyah who had regained consciousness after three days. Certainly I breathed a sigh of relief when she finally woke up.
It was much easier for her to sleep with my protective arm around her waist. She slid over, cuddling close to me, her head on my chest
I gently removed my hand from her waist, resting her head against the soft, white pillow and put another one beside her. She snapped awake and stared at me for a few seconds. She rolled over and her arms circled the pillow smelling most like her, she melted into the bed, swiftly falling into slumber.
I was chuckling as I watched her clutching her scented pillow in her arms and I wrapped the blanket around her.
Having had a good sleep, I felt rested and refreshed, looking through the glass partition, I stood up and stretched, yawning.
It was Jadiel’s twenty-third birthday, he was two months older than I am.
I love him despite our fights and I’d determined to visit and celebrate him regardless. I went into the bathroom and quickly brushed my teeth for two minutes. I finished brushing my teeth, rinsed my mouth and wiped it. Then I took a shower.
Around fifteen minutes later, I picked up my car keys and leaned down, softly kissed Aaliyah on the forehead before walking out of the room

When I got to Jadiel’s house, I met his younger brother, Jose playing video game. He was a complete video game addict.
“Hey Ric” He looked up from his gamepad and smiled at me
“Where is Jadiel?” I asked
“He is in his room, I guess” Jose replied
I nodded and went straight to his room. I opened the door without knocking and shouted “Happy birthday!”
He stood by the window and listened without turning round.
“You’re one of a kind, buddy. Wishing you joy and all the good stuff, friend” I uttered
Releasing the curtain, he turned away from the window and made a face at me. A deep furrow ran across his forehead and he asked
“What the hell are you doing here?”
“To celebrate you, of course” I responded and presented him with a gift of car keys. It was a brand new, expensive car
“How is my Aaliyah doing?” He inquired
“She’s doing really well” I answered
“You see all I want to hear is that kissing Aaliyah was a mistake….”
“It wasn’t a mistake, I love her and it’s obvious that we have tender feelings for each other” I stated
Then he smiled a slow sad smile and said
“All I need is Aaliyah” He threw the key back at me and walked out of his room
I headed downstairs to find Jose on the sofa. I handed the car keys to him and told him to give it to Jadiel
“I hope Jadiel won’t stop feeling upset, I can’t wait to drive that expensive car to school” Jose mumbled
Frowning, I shook my head to clear it and walked away, towards the front door.
“How’d it go?” Kohen asked as I got into the car
“He wants Aaliyah all to himself” I answered
“It is tougher than I thought it would be” Kohen said
I sighed and said nothing. The back of my head hit the headrest as he zoomed off in my sports car.
