🔱KOHEN POV🔱
I lifted my phone and searched the contact list, pausing on Madam Alisa’s name. When I dialed, it went to voice mail, but she returned my call in a matter of minutes.
I arranged to meet her for lunch and slipped my phone in my pocket, then fished my keys out of my satchel and hurried towards the parking lot, tucking my gun at the small of my back.

I was sitting on the rooftop, waiting for Madam Alisa to arrive. I whiled away my time by engaging in video calling. I tapped my phone to make a call and Ric appeared via an online video call to me. I spoke with him for a few minutes and I was happy both are doing well
“It’s good to see you” Madam Alisa smiled at me
I put my phone on the table and rose to shake hands “I’m a detective, working on Mr Richard’s case and I’m asking for your full cooperation” I stated
She mouthed “wow!” Expressing astonishment. “My friend was murdered, and I feel terrible about it” she muttered
“We both know that Aaliyah’s life is in danger. I know who killed her parents and wants her dead”
I told her everything that happened, Aaliyah’s parents being attacked at their house and how they were shot dead.
Her head snapped up, her expression one of surprise that quickly turned to anger.
“But that’s impossible, my husband cannot commit the crime of murder and he was out of the country when my friend and her husband were murdered” she said. A flush spread across her face
Her anger was unfounded, but I had to accept some of the blame for my method of approach.
“Your husband has a mistress, are you aware?” I asked, trying to divert her attention away from my first mistake
I tapped my phone and showed her a short video of her husband kissing his mistress inside the car
She stared open-eyed at the phone on the table. Too tired to fight her tears anymore, she let them fall and stood shaking on the rooftop.
“While it may sound negative, there are some things you’ll never really know about your partner — and that’s OK. People are, after all, so incredibly complex that you can’t expect to learn every little detail of their lives but we can work together to solve this mystery” I told her
She held her head in her hands, tormented by pain without understanding how she was supposed to react
She was silent for a long time but I didn’t talk to her because I knew tears are the silent language of grief. Eventually we reached a compromise before she left
