❄ALISA POV❄
I was giving very deep thought to everything Kohen had told me. I walked back to the house, I’d been so engrossed in thought that I had walked past my son without even seeing him and didn’t hear him call me
I opened the door and Melvin stepped into my room.
“Mum I’ve been calling you, are you all right? Is anything the matter?” Melvin asked
I sank into the chair and let out a long breath, my chin supported by my hands
“I’m fine, thanks” I replied
“Mum you know you can be honest with how you feel and just open up to someone who is willing to hear about your problems” Melvin said with a voice of deep concern
“Your father has a mistress” I muttered
His face grew solemn and he looked at me with pity in his eyes. “I’m sorry Mum I knew about it but I don’t want you to be sad that’s why I chose not to tell you” he whispered through gritted teeth.
I quirked an eyebrow, crossing my arms. I was amazed, shocked, dumbfounded, shaking my head in disbelief. “Tell me more” I murmured
“I saw Dad with a strange documents and he hid it in his safe but he has changed his password” He uttered
As he finished talking, I had panic attack. My heart began to pound frantically, feeling disoriented. “Could it be true?” The heaviness of my head and chest reminded me of the possibility of the story that Kohen had told me.
✨AALIYAH POV✨
I’d spent hours chatting on the phone with Jadiel
“Life is full of surprises and not everything goes according to plan. But that’s okay, because sometimes the best things happen when we least expect them. We have to learn to accept whatever it is and go from there” I sent the last message to him and tapped the phone to make a video call
I got emotional which led in a burst of tears. He looked up at me, his expression softened when he saw I had been crying.
“Aaliyah stop crying” Jadiel spoke in a soft and clear voice
I shook my head, sending him another text message “Ric miss you, he really care about you, he value you and he needs you in his life. You might not talk to him but he pray and wish good for you every day. He still value the good memories that you both had created together before. A friendship might end up unanticipatedly over an argument or misunderstanding. Yet what lives on inside our minds are the memories. They never die”
After reading the text message, a long silence followed before he finally spoke
“Fine! Stop crying or else I will shove chocolate in your mouth to make you stop” Jadiel said and I laughed through the tears
“Your beautiful smile makes my heart melt. I feel betrayed, but I promise to talk to him” He smiled and said with utmost sincerity
I was mightily relieved to hear that and to see his face light up with a boyish grin.
“Beaut” I heard Ric’s voice and swiftly hung up the phone
