“Look woman! I am tired of this nonsense. The entire living room is begining to smell. We need to take their girl out of here. This place is already smelling.
I am a man of God and I believe in God very well. But let’s be realistic and stop decieving ourselves. We all know that this is stupidity. This girl is dead! Look at how we have messed up another man’s sitting room with the smell of our dead child!”
“My daughter is not dead!” Mummy Ope wept.
I felt badly for her. Why was daddy Ope sounding like this.
“I know God is a God of signs and wonder. But it’s not everyday he does his signs and wonders. He is a God that does whatever he likes and you cannot challenge him. Just like Job said, the Lord gave and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.”
“God forbid! If God took away my daughter, you better tell him to give her back to me! A witch killed your daughter man of God and you’re here saying the Lord gave and the Lord takes away. Shame on you!” She said.
“Yes! Shame on me! But a bigger shame on you for not being sensitive enough as a mum to know when your daughter became a member of an occultic lesbian group. How your daughter started making love with her fellow girls and you never knew as a mother. Shame on you! Since it’s shame you want us to do here. Since it’s shame that will solve our problems, let’s do the shame very well!”
I looked at the couple and it made me realize how Satan was able to have access to Ope. There was no unity. They were not even ashamed to lash at each other before me. They were quarrelling right in my presence.
Ope’s mum was not a watcher in the spirit realm. She was only a mother. A mother without a praying altar. A mother that was so asleep spiritually that the devil entered her home and stole what belongs to her and she was still spiritually blind not to notice.
This was a case that calls for serious concern. But now was not the right time to throw blames at each other.
Before I can talk about mummy Ope or her husband, I believe I should start with myself. When God saw how her family was failing in spiritual matters, he handed her over to me to look after. But what did I do? I failed him also. So the blame should start with me.
I was still thinking about what to do, when daddy Ope brought out his phone and dialed a number.
“Hello, yes Frank! Is that you?”
What was he doing?
“Please come with your team. There’s a dead body here that needs to be taken to the mortuary. Thank you!” He said and ended the call.
“Haaaaa! Daddy Ope!” Mummy Ope screamed.
“I’m not an evil person. I’m just being realistic. I know a dead body when I see one. Even the stench is enough to tell me that this one is long gone,” he answered with a brazen face.
“But Lazarus was in the grave for 3 days and after 3 days, Jesus brought him back to life!”
“Can you see how far you are from God? You don’t even know your bible very well. Lazarus was in the grave for 4 days, not 3 days. You see yourself?”
“That doesn’t mean Jesus didn’t bring her back to life.”
“Lazarus is a man, not a woman, stop calling Lazarus her!”
“Daddy Ope, you’re missing my point! My accuracy is not as important as what I’m trying to tell you. God can still bring this girl back. That’s what I’m trying to say!”
“How?” He asked and stretched his hand at her as if she was going to give him something.
“Call mummy!” Mummy Ope turned to me and ordered.
“You’re not serious!” Daddy Ope said as I made to bring out my phone to call her.
“MTN is telling you to carry this girl to the mortuary. You better use your brain and get the message.
I ignored him and dialed mummy’s number.
“The MTN number you have dialed is not reachable at the moment. Please try again later. Thank you,” came the annoying response.
I felt like smashing the phone on the floor. I was so angry and close to tears.
I looked at mummy Ope and shook my head in the negative.
She got the message and almost broke into tears afresh.
“Daddy what can I do? Please talk to me. Please I need your help! Have mercy. I can’t believe this is Ope smelling so bad like this because she’s lifeless. I can’t even go close to her and embrace her. Was this how terrible a human being becomes when he or she dies?
Daddy please tell what to do! I beg of you!”
“GO UPSTAIRS NOW AND SIT DOWN. I HAVE SERIOUS DISCUSSION TO DISCUSS WITH YOU!” Came the gentle whisper.
“I’ll be back!” I told mummy Ope and raced up the stairs.
Immediately I entered the room I shared with Susan, I grabbed my bible and went for the study table.
“Daddy I’m here! Speak to me. Daddy speak for your servant listens.” I said as I placed the bible on my chest, waiting for instruction on where to read.
“JULIET, OPEN YOUR BIBLE TO LUKE 22:31.”
I quickly opened to the passage and read.
“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
Verse 32. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
“SATAN DESIRED TO ATTACK PETER AND ALL JESUS WAS SAYING WAS THAT WHEN HE RECOVERS THAT HE SHOULD STRENGTHEN HIS BROTHERS. WHY WAS GOD SAYING THAT?”
“I don’t know sir!” I answered.
“THAT’S BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS IN MATTHEW 14 VERSE 27B, I WILL SMITE THE SHEPHERD AND THE SHEEP WILL BE SCATTERED.
SATAN DOESN’T HAVE TO GO AFTER EVERYONE OF THE SHEEP. HE JUST NEEDS TO GO AFTER THE SHEPHERD OF THE FLOCK. ONCE HE STRIKES HIM DOWN, THE SHEEP BECOME NOTHING BUT FOOD TO BE DEVOURED.
SO SATAN COMING AFTER PETER WAS EQUIVALENT TO COMING AFTER ALL THE DISCIPLES. ONCE HE STRIKES PETER DOWN, HE HAS STRIKEN DOWN ALL THE APOSTLES AT ONCE.
IF YOU THINK THAT’S EXAGGERATION, OPEN TO JOHN 21:2.”
I quickly opened to the passage. Somewhere in my heart, I was hoping for God to say something about Ope.
“There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.
Verse 3. Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.”
“WAIT, LET’S DO A BRIEF COUNT, SHALL WE?”
“Yes sir! Thomas, Nathaniel, James and John, sons of Zebedee and two other disciples. That’s 6 disciples.”
“PLUS PETER HIMSELF, 7. DON’T FORGET THE 12 APOSTLES ARE NO LONGER 12. HOW MANY ARE THEY RIGHT NOW?”
“Eleven!” I answered.
“SO 7 DISCIPLES OF JESUS. ONLY 4 WERE LEFT.” IMMEDIATELY PETER SAID I’M BACKSLIDING. I’M GOING BACK TO FISHING, WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?”
“Six other apostles when down with him.”
“MIND YOU, PETER NEVER TOLD THEM TO JOIN HIM TO BACKSLIDE. PETER ONLY ANNOUNCED THAT HE WAS GOING FISHING. THAT WAS ALL, THE REMAINING PEOPLE FOLLOWED INSTANTLY.
SMITE THE SHEPHERD AND YOU’LL GET THE SHEEP AT YOUR FINGER TIPS.”
“Wow!”
“THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE STRATEGY OF THE DEVIL FROM THE BEGINNING. FOR HIM TO SUCCESSFULLY CONQUER A TERRITORY, HE NEEDS TO DO A RESEARCH AND LOCATE THE SPIRITUAL WATCHERS. HE NEEDS TO CONQUER THE SPIRITUAL FATHERS AND MENTORS.
PETER WAS LIKE A MENTOR TO THE YOUNGER DISCIPLES. IMMEDIATELY PETER WAS GOING BACK TO THE FISHING JESUS CALLED HIM TO ABANDON. SIX APOSTLES STOOD UP AND SAID, WE ARE GOING DOWN WITH YOU.”
“WHENEVER THE SPIRITUAL LEADER IS WEAK, HIS OR HER CONGREGATION BECOMES WEAK AS WELL.”
“Daddy what are you saying? Do you mean that as a spiritual leader, when I am weak my congregation is weak?
“YOU WILL ALWAYS END UP LOOKING LIKE WHAT YOU LOOK UP TO. SOMETIMES YOUR SPIRITUAL OFFSPRING MAY BE STRONG WHILE YOU’RE WEAK. THERE ARE ALSO SITUATIONS LIKE THAT. BUT AS A LEADER, IT IS YOUR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY WHATEVER PRICE IT WILL TAKE TO REMAIN ON FIRE AT ALL TIMES.”
“Thank you Daddy! You have said so much right now. But I can’t hide it daddy. I’m before the King who sees the hearts of men. What about Ope, you have not said anything. They want to take her to the mortuary.
You have been saying so much here. But I thought the first thing you would talk about is Ope. Daddy, what about Ope?”
There was silence.
“Daddy please don’t tell me Ope is gone forever! Please!” I said and went down on my knees.
“Please! Have mercy! I will do anything you ask. Just do this one last request for me! I promise you, I will do anything you want!”
“MOSES SPENT 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS WITH GOD ON THE MOUNTAIN AND BY THE TIME HE WAS COMING DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN, HIS FACE SHONE LIKE HOW GOD SHINES. THAT’S ONE THING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SPIRIT REALM. YOU BECOME LIKE WHOEVER YOU LOOK UP TO. THE MORE YOU SPEND TIME LISTENING TO A PERSON AND TAKING EVERYTHING THE PERSON SAYS, SOON YOU’LL BECOME LIKE THE PERSON.
SO THE SAME WAY ELI RAISED SAMUEL TO BE A MAN OF GOD. THAT SAME ELI FAILED TO RAISE HIS CHILDREN IN THE WAY OF GOD. WHEN SAMUEL GOT MARRIED AND GAVE BIRTH TO CHILDREN. HE ALSO FAILED LIKE HIS MENTOR TO RAISE HIS CHILDREN IN THE WAY OF GOD.
ELI MENTORED SAMUEL. ELI FAILED TO RAISE HIS CHILDREN IN GOD’S WAY. SAMUEL ALSO FAILED TO RAISE HIS CHILDREN IN GOD’S WAY.
NOW I’M NOT SAYING THIS TO SCARE YOU ABOUT MENTORSHIP. MENTORSHIP IS VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU MUST GROW. THE GRAET APOSTLE PAUL WAS MENTORED BY PETER AND PAUL ALSO MENTORED TIMOTHY. TIMOTHY WAS THE FIRST YOUNGEST BISHOP IN THE BODY OF CHRIST. HE WAS THE BISHOP OF THE CHURCH IN EPHESUS. THE FIRST YOUNGEST MAN OF GOD THE BODY OF CHRIST EVER HAD.
MENTORSHIP GIVES YOUR DESTINY AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH SPEED. BELIEVE ME JULIET, ANYONE WHO WANTS TO FULFILL DESTINY MUST SUBMIT HIMSELF TO SOMEONE AND BE MENTORED.
BUT I’M SPEAKING TO YOU MENTORS, PASTORS, SPIRITUAL LEADERS AND OFFICERS IN GOD’S HOUSE. CHOIRISTERS AND USHERS, WHATEVER POSITION YOU ARE HOLDING IN GOD’S HOUSE.
DON’T FAIL YOUR GENERATION. THE MORE REASON WHY YOU NEED TO SUBMIT TO GOD TO WORK ON YOU VERY WELL. SO YOU’RE NOT LACKING IN ANY AREA. BECAUSE AS GOD BEGINS TO USE YOU, HE’LL BEGIN TO BRING PEOPLE TO YOU TO BE TRAINED AND DISCIPLED, SO THEY FULFILL PURPOSE.
AND ALSO YOU MENTEES AND DISCIPLERS, PRAY FOR YOUR MENTOR AND SPIRITUAL LEADERS. THEY ARE THE PRIME TARGET OF THE ENEMY. SATAN KNOW HOW IT WOULD BE MORE EASIER TO GET TO YOU WHEN YOUR MENTOR’S PRAYER LIFE IS DOWN.
SO MAKE IT A DUTY TO STAND IN THE GAP AND INTERCEED FOR THEM.”
“Daddy! What about Ope?”
“JULIET, I DON’T NEED TO TELL YOU EVERYTHING. WHEN GOD IS NOT SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT AN ISSUE, IT IS ALSO A STATEMENT.”

This is a call to awakening.
Many of us have fathers we look up to. Now is the time to take up a decision to be a defender for them in the place of prayers.
Now is the time to take a stand. As mighty as Apostle Paul was he wrote in the scripture saying, ‘Brethren pray for us!’
2 Kings 5:25 But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.
Verse 26. And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?
Verse 27. The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
Gehazi was the one who failed his generation ooo. But what he did was going to follow his seed forever. Meaning of you’re a son of Gehazi, that demon of Leprosy must come for you.
Your failure to rise and fulfill destiny is the destruction of a generation.
Take a stand today! I must not fail God.
