I decided to get my bag and get out of the school as soon as the closing bell sounded. I was so eager to get home as quickly as possible. I was depressed, sad and angry at myself. I had been trying to reach dad, but he wasn’t responding.
I had apologized and apologize countless times, still no answer. I knew the one person in the world I know, who could solve this puzzle. Ella!
I was so much in a hurry to get to her. I needed her to sing her favourite Jesus love song and bring daddy back. I was so tired of this place. If possible, I want to stop attending Broadway academy.
But I know that’s not going to be possible. Mummy would be mad at me. She still believes God sent me here. Hello! I’m dying here! Lust is eating me up. How would God send me to a place only to be destroyed by immorality. I don’t have what it takes to win this territory for God.
I just need to run for my life before it was too late. I know it won’t be easy, but I guess it was time I leave Broadway academy. I have to try and hope I’ll be able to have my way.
I picked up my stuff and started looking for one of my notebooks. I searched my bag again and poured out all the books. Then my mind flashed back to the time I gave my note to Fejiro.
“Where’s that girl!” I asked and turned around looking both ways. I knew if I was going to leave as quickly as possible, I had to do it without her. So I decided to find her and give her one or two reasons why we won’t be going home together.
As I walked, I met a girl and asked her if she had seen my friend.
She told me that my friend was at the back of the school building with the rich guy.
“Who’s the rich guy?” I asked.
“Go and see for yourself”, she replied and left.
I raised my eyebrows at her going and shrugged. I followed the direction she pointed and got to the back of the school building. I felt I shouldn’t barge in, but peep to see what was going on.
So I followed my instincts and peeped from behind the building. I was completely shocked by what I saw. I almost screamed out of my hiding place.
Fejiro was not only wrapped in a boy’s arms, but they were kissing intensely. It was like those strong kisses I saw in movies. It was so intense that one might think they would move in to stage two of lust.
But; I thought Fejiro was not part of them? I thought she was saying shae was holding her ground and doing all she can to avoid blending in to the pattern of the world.
Why was she falling into the same thing she said she would do her best to avoid.
I was still watching them, when she suddenly pulled out of the immoral act and pushed the guy away.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“I’m sorry! I don’t know what is wrong with me. This isn’t right. We’re not supposed to be doing something like this”, she said in a choked up voice.
“Come on! It’s a normal thing. I know you’re feeling guilty because it’s your first time. But don’t worry! You’ll get used to it and learn to enjoy it. It’s not a big deal”, he replied and pulled her into a hug, patting her back gently.
She relaxed in his arms and gave a sigh of relief.
I just couldn’t hold myself anymore. I have to interfere. I can’t stand here and watch my friend sell her destiny to this wicked guy. This guy was not the kind of guy you mess with. He was a playboy and had a record of immorality with different girls.
“God help me do the right thing”, I whispered as I made to step out.
A hand pulled me back and dragged me in a jiffy. I turned to see who it was and discovered there were two boys behind me.
“Hey! What’s the meaning of this?” I said angrily.
“What’s the meaning of what you’re about to do?” One of them replied.
“I don’t understand. I need to get my friend so we can head home”, I answered angrily.
“Your friend is busy. You can leave without her. When she’s through, she would meet you at home.
I looked at them and gave them the look that they sounded ridiculous.
“You guys as seriously stupid. Are you the rich guy’s body guard? This is unbelievable!” I said and made to walk passed them, but they pushed me back.
“What’s the meaning of this?”
“We said get out! Are you deaf?”
“You’re the one who’s deaf! Your parents sent you to school to learn. But you have been too stupid to become the body guard of your fellow classmate. You are foolish and stupid. All of you!” I said and made to pass them.
This time, it was a slap that landed on my face.
“Juliet! Don’t try us! Leave this place now! Before we do something terrible. We have stronger connections in this school. We can do the abominable to you and it would be buried”.
I was shocked. Was I in a school or an occult? The abominable? Ewoo! Hope he’s not talking about rape? Let me save my head ooo! Fejiro you can continue with your nonsense boyfriend. God will help your life.
I quickly turned and took to my heels. Abominable, no be me and you. I said it several times. This place is not a school. It’s a destiny trading supermarket. I have to get out of this place as quickly as possible.
As I got close to the gate, I saw Mr Clifford on his way out of the school.
“Perhaps I can tell him about the drama that just took place a few minutes ago. He will be able to handle those students and rescue my friend.
“Sir!” I quickly called him. He stopped and turned to look at me.
“What is it?”
I started narrating everything I had seen and how those boy acted as bodyguard, stopping me from reaching my friend.
“Not again!” I heard him mutter under his breath.
“That’s not possible! Juliet stop lying”, was the response I got from him.
I looked at him very well to be sure I wasn’t dreaming.
“Sir! Do you think I’m a liar? Why don’t you come with me to see it yourself?”
“Stop spoiling the integrity of this great institution”, he replied.
“Sir, come and see for yourself and stop making noise”, I said obviously angry with him.
“Making noise?” He replied angrily.
I didn’t know how that came out of my mouth.
“I’m sorry sir! That was a mistake. I don’t know how it came out of my mouth”, I said and knelt down to apologize.
Two hot slaps landed on my face.
“You this girl! You lack respect for your teachers! You cannot respect your teachers at all”.
“I’m sorry sir! Please forgive me! I’m so sorry! Believe me it was a mistake”, I said as tears flowed down my cheeks.
God! Why was all these happening? I’m sorry for disobeying your instructions. Please don’t punish me like this? Please! I cannot take it anymore. I won’t disobey you again. I promise.
“Let’s go and check the place you are talking about. Let’s see if what you’re saying is true”, he said and grabbed my hand.
He pulled me to my feet and pulled me to the scene where all I was narrating occured.
Lo and behold, it was completely empty. There was not a single person there. I felt like the ground should open and swallow me. This was a time I really wished I could disappear. I am in trouble ooo!
God please! Don’t do this to me! I said I’m sorry! Please! I feel like dying right now. I hate myself for disobeying you. I never knew your punishment can be so unbearable. Please! Show me mercy.
Mr Clifford turned to me and gave me a hard spanking on my back. I screamed and went down on my knees.
“Sir I’m sorry!” I apologized, weeping profusely.
“Today! You would know what it means to tell a teacher he is a noise maker!” He said and took me along with him to the place where assembly was usually held.
I pleaded with him all through the way, but my pleas fell on deaf ears.
“Frog jump! 7 times from that end to the other” he said and pushed me forward.
I went down on my knees and began to plead.
“Sir please! Believe me when I said it was a mistake. I don’t know how that word managed to slip out of my mouth”.
“It slipped out of your mouth because it was already in your heart. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. You’re the type that usually insults teachers in your thoughts. Don’t you know it’s a sin?
Ecclesiastes 10:20. Even in your mind do not curse the king; and in your bedchamber do not curse the rich; for a bird in the sky may carry your voice, and a winged creature may declare the matter.
The bible says you should not curse people in your heart. So even if you call yourself a child of God, you have just sinned against God. And I’m going to punish you for sinning against him.
Frog jump! Start it now before I lose my temper!”
I held my ears and began to jump. The distance he asked me to jump was too much for me. I had only gone to and fro twice when my legs began to ache so badly.
“What was my offence? I saw students doing the abominable and reported. Why is it that anytime I report something like this, all I get in return is trouble?
There’s something wrong about this school. This wasn’t ordinary. God! If I’m going to win this territory for you, I’ll need wisdom. What’s happening here is beyond ordinary.
But for now, the moment I leave this place, I’m waving this way that leads to Hell goodbye. I’m done with the destiny trading supermarket. I’ll have no business with this school ever again.
Today is my last day in Broadway academy. I don’t care what mummy would have to say about my decision, but I cannot kill myself before my time.
When you cannot cope, you go home.
I cannot die in the name of winning souls for God.
What those boys said about having connections was something fishy. They said they could do anything to anyone and it would be swept under the carpet. Hmmm! This is not a school at all. It’s a graveyard! Ahhh!
I winced in pain and fell on my knees. Gasping, I turned to Mr Clifford and gave him that pleading look.
“Continue! He said and looked away from me.
“Sir! Please! Please! I have learnt my lesson. Find a place in your heart to forgive me! I’m deeply sorry!”
“Would you continue that punishment before I come over there and slap you!” He yelled.
I continued jumping. My legs were aching so badly. Some students who passed by saw me and laughed me to scorn. My tears knew no bounds. I just kept on crying and crying.
“Would I be able to get home today? With all these pains I’m feeling in my legs?
Soon, an idea hit me strongly. I looked at Mr Clifford and saw he was operating his android phone. I looked at the school gate and saw it was widely open.
I looked around and saw there was no one watching. The idea kept forming in my head. I decided to buy it.
I stood up suddenly and grabbed my bag. I ran as fast as I could even with the pains in my legs.
“Juliet come back here!” I heard Mr Clifford shouting.
“No be me and you! Bye bye to this evil school! Bye bye to Broadway! Father I thank you for delivering me from Broadway academy!”
I was still running, but looked back to see the school building one last time.
That was how I collided with a person and almost fell to the ground.
“Can’t you watch where you’re going?” She groaned.
“I’m sorry!” I replied.
Lo and behold, it was Fejiro.
To be continued……..
If you were Juliet, would you still come back to this school?
😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
