I opened the door and found her on her knees. She turned and gave me the smile I was expecting to see.
“He sent you!” She said smiling.
“Who?” I asked, shocked she already knew I was coming.
“You know who I’m talking about!” She answered with a warm smile.
I shook my head and smiled as I sat beside her. She was on her knees, but she quickly sat down as well and wrapped her arm around me.
I leaned my head on her shoulder and exhaled.
“Sounds like you’re back again, aren’t you?”
“You bet I am! The only problem is that this time! I’m not running anymore!”
“Hmmmmm! Are you sure?”
“I gave him my word!”
“And you want him to count on it, right?”
“Yes!”
“I believe you! But I just want you to know that what you signed up for is not a child’s play!”
“I’m ready to die than not keep my word. If I was ready to die because I was disobedient, then I’m ready to die if I cannot keep my word. I am ready for the worst.
Losing Fejiro was more than a defeat. In one day, I lost so much. The battle hit me from everyside. I was the one who failed God and it was Fejiro that went for it.
If God was merciful enough to allow me to live when I deserve to die, then wow!”
“Wow what?”
“Then that means I have so much more to do. That means I have a great assignment in store. That means I need to make up for Fejiro and make her proud of me.
So I have made a decision to burn for Jesus! And the only thing that can stop me is death!”
There was a brief silence as Susan said nothing in response.
“What about pain?” She asked breaking the silence.
“Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Pain is a joker. If it cannot kill me, then it cannot stop me. Only death can stop me. Only death.”
“Juliet! I’m loving this your resolve to burn for God! I would really love to see you grow from a cub into a lioness. I was watching the lion king the other day and a conversation really struck me and got me praying in the Holy Ghost.”
“The lion king? You mean Walt Disney’s the lion king?”
“Yes! Simba and his uncle. But it’s the movie ooo, not the cartoon. The throne belonged to Simba but the devil his uncle took the throne from Adam, which was Mufasa.
The uncle made a mess out of the whole place and the land was turned to rubbles. There was a need for the true King to return and take that territory for Jesus.
But where was the king? Simba was in the jungle living in Hakuna Matata. No worries, for the rest of your days! Don’t worry about tomorrow. Live the way you like. Eat anyhow! Sleep anyhow. No worries.
Until one day the spirit of his dead father appeared to him and said, ‘Remember who you are!’
You are not Hakuna Matata! You are the son of a Lion. You are the king of the pride lands. That was how he marched back to his homeland to claim back what the devil had stolen from him. This royalty! He marched back with red eyes. He marched back with fire in his heart. He was furious! He was a king, stripped of his royalty and made to live like a jungle monkey.
But now! Not anymore!”
“Wow! I can’t believe the Holy Ghost made you to see beyond a movie. Wow! So there was Rhema in that story! How the devil stole the throne for the children of the Lion of Judah and took over the territory. Turned out daughters into prostitutes and made them agents of immorality.
He took our young boys and made them womanizers. Haaaaa! Father! Cause us to march into battle with red eyes!”
“Amen!” She replied.
“So! Who goes first?” She asked.
“Goes first on what?” I asked.
“Julie angel! You know daddy told you to come and teach me what he taught you about the urgent need for intercessors. He told me that he would send you to meet me here so I can listen to what you had to say.”
I was marvelled. This house was indeed a barrack. I smiled and shook my head.
“But can you please go first? What are the blessings of an intercessor? I would really want to know what privileges an intercessor gets from God. Can you please share them with me?”
The door opened and Ella entered the room holding my ringing phone in her hand.
“Juliet! 64 missed calls!”
“Jesus! Who is calling me?”
“Your Dad!”
“Haaaa! Did something happen to him? Hope Satan has not proceeded to harming him, cause I’ll strangle him with my bare hands!” I said within me as I answered the call.
“Hello sir! Are you okay? What happened to you?”
“Juliet what happened? Why did you call me 15 times? I have been calling back for how many hours now, no one is picking my calls. I called Mummy Abayomi. Her phone is switched off. I have been calling and calling you but you refused to pick. What is going on? Do you want to kill me with high blood pressure?”
I had to exhale first. That means daddy was fine. It is wonderful to know he was okay.
“Are you there?”
“Yes I am!”
“Them answer me! What happened to you today?”
“I’m so sorry! One of my friends died yesterday. I was trying to call Mummy but I didn’t know her number off hand. So I decided to call you so you can send it to me. That was what led to my calls.”
“And you were not able to save her?”
“No! She died!”
“I’m so sorry about that Juliet!”
“It’s alright! I have gotten over the loss. I am no longer in pains anymore. I’m only trying my best to get back to my feet over here.”
“And are you back on your feet now?”
“We thank God for his grace and glory.”
“Julie angel! I have something to tell you. There was a dream I had about you earlier this week and the Holy Ghost instructed me to fast and pray about it.”
“Wow! I’m listening,” I said and paid rapt attention.
“I saw some people struggling, trying to come out of a pit. They were crying for help and you ran to the scene. They were 3 in number. One of them was putting on your school uniform. Another one had chains in her hands and legs and was looking tattered like someone who was suffering from mental disorder.
The chains around her ankles were exactly the type they use in chaining mad people.”
“Jesus is Lord! Aunty Rhema!” I whispered.
“Who is Aunty Rhema?” Susan asked.
“Shhhh!” I replied and held a finger across my lips.
“The last one was a man. I don’t think I have seen this man before but I don’t know how you managed to pull the fill grown man out of the pit. He was the first person you grabbed out of the 3 of them.
It wasn’t easy for you pulling him. I was almost thinking you were both going to fall. But at last, you came out victorious.
Next, you went after the girl in your school uniform and tried to pull her out. But she seemed heavy beyond your expectations. I was trying to get to the scene to help you, but my legs could not move.
So all I could do was to shout words of encouragement at you, encouraging you to try your best. At a point I started telling you to let her go since pulling her up was becoming too demanding. Infact, what I said was the worst thing to say. Immediately you released the lady, she fell down and you stood up and made to walk away abandoning the mad lady in chains.
I heard the fallen girl scream and felt guilty. But I was not ready to lose you in your quest of being a hero.
Immediately you turned your back to leave, a powerful wind came from nowhere. It swept you and threw you into the pit in an instant
Immediately you attempted to leave the scene that was when the strange wind came.
I woke up terrified. I don’t understand what that dream could mean. I don’t know who that man is. And this girl! From what you said about your friend who died, could she be the one that dream was referring to?”
I had tears in my eyes right now. I was just looking at my sisters who were actively involved in the conversation, waiting for my answer.
“Yes she was the one!” I finally mustered the strength to reply.
“Haaaaa! And what about the man. Who is he?”
“I don’t know! The only man I had had an encounter with recently is the school principal and Mr Clifford. Mr Clifford is a teacher in my school!”
“And what about the mad lady?”
“That’s Aunty Rhema!”
“Who is she to you?”
“An assignment God has placed in my hands.”
“And something else happened. The wind swept you and threw you into the pit. Can I ask, how is your relationship with God now?”
“Daddy! We have so much to discuss. I lost everything. I was lost and I almost killed myself. It was grace that brought me back. So much has happened in the past few days.”
“No wonder! I now understand why God told me to fast and pray for you! That was part of what brought you back safely!”
“Yes! But the girl didn’t make it! She’s gone!”
“I’m sorry about that!”
“It’s alright! It was all my fault!”
Ella tapped my shoulder. I looked at her and met her giving me a stern look. I quickly changed my lines.
“Thank you Daddy! For standing in the gap for me. I don’t know what I would have done without you! You’re the best daddy in the world.”
“Don’t thank me! If you really want to thank me, go and pay the price. That’s the only way you can repay me.
Juliet! I failed you! But the last thing I will not fail again in life is to prayerfully prepare the way for you. Never! It was a vow I made to God. I will pray and pray until I see you become what he said you will become.
That’s why you cannot die. I have already told him that my Juliet cannot die. I will kill every spirit of death that comes after her. If you like stab her with a knife, she will still wake up.
I have covenanted her to God! She cannot die until she fulfils purpose.”
My tears ran down my cheeks.
If I don’t pay the price, then I am truly a wicked person. If I don’t fulfill purpose, then I am a terrible person. What is that price God is demanding from me?
Lord please name your price! Please tell me what you want from me. I’ll give you anything!
“Julie baby!”
“Yes sir!”
“What is holding you back!”
“Nothing!” I said with a tear choked voice.
“Why have you refused to pay the price?”
“Daddy! I’m ready! I am ready to do anything! Whatever it will take! I am ready to do anything! I am ready to pay that price and stand up to fight. The price is great, yes! Looks impossible, yes!
But is it achievable, yes! That’s all I want to hear. Enough excuses for my failures!”
“Juliet! I don’t know what to say, I have seen you fail in your walk with God so many times that I find it difficult to believe a day would ever come when your walk with God will be perfect.
But God is rebuking me for having that imagination and telling me to believe he is the God of all possibilities. He said he can bring a good thing out of Nazareth!”
“Wait a minute! What did you say?”
“He can bring something good out of Nazareth!”
“Hallelujah!” I said all smiles.
“So I pray for you and declare over your spiritual life. Your back will not touch the ground in Jesus name!”
“Amen!”
“You shall fly like the eagle and you shall be a terror to the princes of darkness in Jesus name!”
“Amen!”
To be continued………
Let me tell you a mistake many of you usually make. After telling yourself that you’re going to be on fire for God. You imagining if it is possible.
You start telling yourself that you usually fall anytime you try to rise. Will it be possible to walk consistently with Jesus?
And Satan will start sending his arrows of fear to your heart. You start telling yourself you always fall and that’s all it would ever be.
The moment you can accept the devil’s truth and not the truth of God, you’ll always have that experience of inconsistency in your spiritual life.
I called it the devil’s truth because he works with facts. Sometimes, we humans believe in facts more than the word of God. We believe in experience more than the assurance in God’s word.
But if you can learn to walk by faith, even when your spiritual life according to facts is still inconsistent, but you hold on to faith that God will perfect all that concerns me. Satan has lost you!
This is how you overcome. 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
