Grandfather Beau was sitted at the gazebo in the garden. His face was scrunched with a frown, he was sweating profusely as he tried standing up to his feet.”Sir are you okay?” His butler asked with concern. Before the butler could get his reply, grandfather Beau leaned over the gazebo and he started retching. This has been a major battle on his health in the past few years. The doctor had said it was digestive problem which has resulted due to the heart problem he had, so he has being living on antiemetics. He always puked whenever he had something to eat, and that has resulted in his drastic lost of weight.The butler hurried over to him, and patted on his back to sooth him. He didn’t expect the old man to start puking suddenly. Didn’t he take his drugs?This was going to be a problem if the young masters found out about it. Jake would have his head, for making such a mistake.Grandfather Beau was still retching when sudden footsteps could be heard behind him.”Sir” Came the strong and dangerous voice. The butler turned to look at him, to see Adrian standing behind them, completely dressed in black and a face cap to cover his face.Grandfather Beau waved his hand to him, indicating for him to wait. Soon he was finally calm and his butler rushed in to grab a bottle of water which used to rinse his mouth.”Thank you” Grandfather Beau said dismissively. The butler quickly bowed to Adrian and left them. He knew whenever Adrian came around, they had something important to talk about.Adrian looked at the old man with a scrutinizing gaze, if he was concerned about him, he didn’t show it.”So what’s the update?” Grandfather Beau broke the silence by asking.”I think Hillary is on the move” Adrian said.”You think?” Grandfather Beau cocked a brow, a quick frown forming on his face.”I’m not hundred percent sure, but I spotted her speaking to a few of your company members recently, and your request of knowing what she’s upto, she’s currently acting on a new movie” Adrain reported. Grandfather Beau fell silent for a while as if he was in a deep thought.”Then what about William’s family?” Grandfather Beau asked the most important question.”They’ve been sent to the island”____________Jake had a solemn look on his face as he parked in front of the Walkers place. He didn’t want Jade to go, he didn’t want their time together to end, he was really enjoying her company, but most importantly he was unsettled about Jade coming there. His thought was filled with the memory of Lair’s smile and the way he talks to Jade so casually. He would be lying if he said he wasn’t bothered by it. He didn’t like the idea of Jade spending time with a guy. Okay, not that he was a girl or something. But he didn’t like the fact she’d get to share those smile with someone else. The thought of it irked him.The thought of Lair talking and smiling at her or Jade returning the smile was irking him deeply.He didn’t like the way Jade was so free with her friend’s brother. He was yet to confirm that Jade’s relationship with Lair was simply platoonic.’Jake calm down, what’s wrong with you.’ He tried controlling his thoughts.He didn’t know why he was feeling uncomfortable by this. It wasn’t like he loved Jade? Hold on love?? Gosh that was impossible…but he didn’t know why he was feeling possessive of her.Jade was still sitting in the passenger’s seat beside him. She noticed the grim look on his face and his tightened grip over the wheel, with his gaze focused on building before them. A concerned frown appeared on her face as she looked at him.’What was wrong with him?”Jake are you okay?” She asked snapping Jake out of his thoughts. Jake who has been lost in his thoughts realized his tight hold over the wheels and he slowly realeased his grip before turning to her.”Yeah” He lied, faking a smile not quite reaching his eyes. Jade didn’t miss the fact there was something unusual about him. From the few times she has been with him, she has come to know that wasn’t a sincere response from him.”Are you sure?” Jade asked raising a brow. Jake looked at her and sighed.”Are you friends with your friends brother?” Jake asked without thinking. He didn’t know why he had asked that, but the question had dropped out of his mouth before he realized it.’What the heck has come over him? He was out of it’Jade didn’t understand where the question had come from, but she decided to answer him. There was nothing to hide and they were friends after all.”Yeah, Lair is my best friend. Actually I knew him before Amy. So now we’re just trio of bestfriends” Jade explained with a easy smile on her face. Talking about them made her realize how much she has missed the siblings.Jake’s expression turned grim after Jade’s explanation. He couldn’t believe what she had just said. But if it was any consolation he was happy they weren’t in a romantic relationship. Not that it’ll matter to him, but the thought of it didn’t sit well with him.Jade felt shivers down her spine when Jake’s expression changed. His face looked like he was about to snap someones neck.”Ja..ke?” Jade called softly, her voice was filled with concern. She didn’t know why, she felt uncomfortable when she sees an unpleasant look on his face.”Hmm” Jake lifted his eyes to meet hers.”Is something wrong?” Jade asked. Jake sighed in his mind when he realized he must have been scaring her with his look.”I just hate the fact that you have to go” He said pouting his lips slightly, trying to ease off the tense atmosphere.Jade chuckled slightly when she observed the cute pout on his face. Why was he acting cute recently?Jade looked at him again, she noticed the sad look in his eyes were still there. She also felt like not leaving. In all honesty, she was beginning to enjoy his company alot. And their time together today, has opened her eyes to the different personalities of Jake she hasn’t seen before. He was such a cool person to hang out with, his company was great.”We’ll see when you keep to the end of the bargain. So don’t sulk up CEO Jake” Jade said with a teasing smile.Her words brought a huge smile to Jake’s face. He couldn’t hide his excitement when he remembered he he had two dates with Jade. A lunch date, and a reward date. Jade has promised to be his date to a party as a reward for linking her up with her ‘idol’. But that would be after he makes the lunch date possible.*~~~~Flashback~~~~*”What’s in it for me?” Jake had asked her, a mischievious glint flashed through his eyes which Jade had failed to capture.”What do you by ‘what’s in it for you?” Jade’s eyes squinted at him. She didn’t want to believe it was probably what she was thinking. Her eyes bore at Jake as she desperately waited for his answer.”Well I’m going to help you realize your dream of meeting with your idol, so I should get something out of this right? It’s only fair if I do” Jake stated. Jade’s eyes slightly widened before she let snorted out in disbelief. So the mighty Jake Beau who led a business empire was a petty man.”Don’t give me that look. I’m a business man, and I only think about success and gains. Don’t blame me, it’s not my fault.” Jake defended himself, observing Jade’s judgemental look.”But I’m your friend” Jade retorted.”So?””So you should be able to do something for me free” Jade stated firmly.”Oh come on. Even in free town nothing is free” He told her with a serious look. “So tell me Jade, What’s in it for me?” Jake asked giving her his get down to business look. From his gaze, Jade knew the man wasn’t going to budge no matter how she tried, her only choice would be to give something back.Jade stared at him intently, and Jake matched her gaze. They fixed their gaze on each other, like they could bore hundred of holes on each others clothes.”What do you want?” Jade finally gave in. She concluded there was no way she could win against Jake.”I’m not going to ask for much. Go with me to a party” Jake said in a gentle tone, leaving Jade confused.”Huh?? I don’t understand. Wh..at, what kind of a party” Jade asked.”Let’s just say i need a date to attend a party with me, and I don’t know who to take with me. And fortunately you happen to be my only female friend, so be my date.” Jake said.”Be my date to this party and I’ll make your dream of seeing your idol come true”The thought of taking Jade to a party didn’t cross his mind hours ago, because the truth was he had no intentions of taking anyone with him. But right now, he wasn’t going to let go of an opportunity of being with her or attending a party with her. Being with her was pure bliss, he didn’t want it to come to an ends. At least not anytime soon.Jade fell quiet as she thought about his request. Be his date to a party?What sort of party? She didn’t even need to ask twice. A party for someone like Jake would be one of those luxurious parties made for the high and mighty of society. She didn’t think it would be a wise decision to go, but she was also excited about the fact that she’ll be able to see her Idol. So without much thinking Jade said, “Okay”Jake mischievious smirk appeared on Jake’s face which Jade didn’t miss, but his face immediately regained his normal composure. The smile left the same way it came, leaving Jade to struggle if she had imagined it or not.Jade’s brows subconsciously arched. There was something about Jake right now that was a bit spooky.”Its a deal” Jake said stretching his hand to her for a hand shake, a satisfied smile tugging in his lips. Jade narrowed her eyes suspiciously as she received his outstretched hand and replied. “Deal”~~~~~~~*BACK TO IN JAKE’S CAR*”Yeah, I’ll be looking forward to that” Jake revealed a happy smile when he remembered all he had gained from this little outing. As much as he wasn’t happy to let Jade go, he was ready to let her go for now. He was anticipating!.Jake’s attention was suddenly drawn to a car that drove past and slowly parked right in front of them. His eyes were glued to the car as he waited for the driver to step out. God help him, if he it was Lair or what so ever his name is. He was trying his best not to think too much about him.But to his surprise, it was someone else. Another guy. His eyes reflexively dashed to Jade who was also looking at the almost familiar person that has just parked in front of Amy’s house. She could swear she has seen him before, but she didn’t know where.Jake observed her intense look on the guy and his muscles slightly tensed up.”Someone you know?” He asked Jade, his gaze heavily fixed on her.”No, he just looks familiar” Jade said, her eyes following the stranger who walked into the house. Her eyes caught sight of Lair opening the door, and so did Jake. He suddenly felt a tight thump in his heart when he thought that was Jade’s cue to leave, but fortunately she remained still.’She wasn’t leaving!’ Jake was about to do a happy dance in his heart when Jade turned to him and stretched out a bag. He remembered he had seen the bag morning at her place. He had almost forgotten he had seen her with a bag, when he picked her up.But why was she giving it to him?”Here” Jade said, her voice slight low but tense. Her heart started to race frantically, and her palm began to sweat.”What’s there?” His brows scrunched up as he asked, his hands slowly reaching for the bag.”It’s…it..s your Jacket” Jade said.His jacket? Jake was lost in confusion, he didn’t remember giving her a jacket to her. So what was she talking about?Jake slowly received the bag from her hands and opened it. He stiffened when he saw the jacket she was talking about. It was the one he had draped on her on the day he had seen her, running under the rain. His eyes lingered on it for a while, before lifting his eyes back to Jade.He was at a loss for words.The memory of that day came rushing back to him. That was the second time he had seen Jade, and he could remember how drenched, pale and broken she was. That was two months ago, and he couldn’t believe she had held on to it all this while.He continued to look at her with no words to say. Even if he did, he didn’t know if he would be able to say them.”I never really got to thank you, for the help and kindness you showed to me on that day. I didn’t expect you to show up and help me…you know..after what happened between us” Jade said in a low voice. She was feeling uneasy and embarrassed talking about that day.Jake eyes were glued to her, he could feel the pain and hurt buried in her voice as she spoke. He didn’t want her to continue, because he had a feeling she might cry, and if she did, he wouldn’t know what to do to placate her. Recounting that day, he knew what ever happened must have give her a big blow, so he didn’t want her to relive that moment.”It was the worst day….” Jade faltered. Her eyes were slowly becoming misty.”Jade..” Jake tried speaking. His tone was soft and his gaze gentle like he wanted to take all her pains away and never hear that pain in her voice again.But Jade cut him short.”It was the worst day of my life, but you showed up and helped me and for that I’m grateful Jake. Thank you”
