The book of Leviticus and Numbers emphasize more on the essence of peace. Most places we read about peace offerings because peace is the bedrock of every good thing in life. There must be peace between man and man also between man and God.
Everything God created in the beginning experienced peace that’s why there was progress. The sun was peaceful with the moon and the stars in the sky. The rain was peaceful with the land that’s why there was herbs for man’s consumption.
I want you to know that PEACE don’t exist only by prayer: O Lord, let there by peace, give us peace in Jesus name. No. Efforts must be made. Yes, you must take necessary steps to work it out.
Let’s have an instance. You hate someone with passion probably because of one issue or the other. Or probably there’s a misunderstanding between you and someone. So, you begin to pray endlessly but fail to settle the matter with the person. How do you think the prayer will be answered?
Peace affect prayers and sacrifices offered to God.
Matthew 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Paul said something related to peace.
Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Why do you think he said this? You don’t know who can help you tomorrow. That enemy you assume can be the one to show you the way. He can be your teacher, or your pastor, or your prophet or your boss. The writer knew how difficult it may be, that’s why he said, IF IT BE POSSIBLE… You must make it happen with ALL men.
Peaceful coexistence bring about opportunities.
Genesis 34:21 These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.
There’s no pretense in peace. If you think you can pretend, one day it’ll be revealed. Moreover, you can’t pretend for God because he sees everything within your heart.
1 Samuel 16:7 …for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Don’t be selective to have peace with people. Moreover, peaceful living has an element of holiness which is a gate pass to heaven. In fact, being peaceful is teaching you to be holy.
Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
Where’s the peace in your home? Where’s that peace in your place of work? Why do you insist you won’t be in agreement with your neighbour? Where’s peace in your place of worship? Where’s peace in your family? Where’s peace in that business?
Peace starts with you. Although it’s a joint work. However, play your part as much as you can. That’ll change the other party and everything will be in order. Peace be unto you.

God of peace, teach me to live peacefully with all men as you demand me in Jesus name. Amen.
