I was dressing up for a party that was organized for freshers in my college when I heard my friend’s voice
“Girl you look so hot” Tina commended. She sat on the chair in my room pressing her phone
“Thank you bestie, you are not looking bad either”
“Your boyfriend is just too hot, I haven’t seen someone as handsome as he is, so classic and expensive. If not that you’re my bestie I would have told my parents to use their influence to connect both of us” Tina spoke softly as she kept watching the video of Ric when he arrived at the airport
“You won’t do that to me, you know we are best friends” I said maintaining a stern face
As a Senate President’s daughter, I knew her father could use his power and authority to matchmake Tina and Ric, coupled with the fact that Ric doesn’t like me for the past One year that our parents had engaged us. He even left the country because he said I was too clingy and he doesn’t believe in love
“Calm down babe, just kidding, was not intended to be serious” Tina’s voice interrupted my thought
“Better!” I said trying to calm down
“When is your wedding date?” She asked
“You know I will be nineteen by next month, so after my birthday, we will start our wedding preparation” I replied
‘I envy you girl, you know Ric doesn’t like girls but you are lucky to have a place in his heart” Tina spoke effusively
“Yea, that’s why I’m a Queen” I proudly said even though he doesn’t like me being around him but he won’t be able to avoid me again after our wedding
“Queen Mia can we go now, I don’t want to be late for the party maybe I can see my own prince charming” Tina muttered.
She stood up from a chair by the wall. So now I followed behind her, in lovely silence
We got into the vehicle and drove for a few minutes in silence. Tina drove the speed limit – no more, no less
“Ric is back to the country but he didn’t call me, I’ve tried his number several times but he refused to pick up. Whether you like it or not Ric, I will be your wife and I will have control over your wealth”
“Here we are” Tina said on arrival at our destination.
I pushed the thought from my mind and stepped out of the car.
✨AALIYAH POV✨
I couldn’t sleep even during the day, anytime I managed to take a nap I would see uncle Gerald pointing Gun at me but Aunt Alisa told me that he couldn’t hurt me
I felt weak and useless, I missed Dad and Mum so much. No one can love me the way they loved me
“Aaliyah, why are you crying again?” Aunt Alisa asked, entering into my room.
“Did anyone bully you when I went out?” She asked again and I shook my head in negation
“Tell me what happened, I’m here to listen to you and solve the problem” she said to me
I picked up my phone and typed “I miss my parents”
She hugged me and patted my back softly, whispering to my ear
“You will be fine dear, it’s a matter of time. I’ll take you shopping and I will do anything to make you happy”
At that moment she heard her phone ringing, she turned away from me as the telephone rang and answered right away
“Aaliyah, I want to go somewhere very important, I will be back soon” She informed me immediately she disconnected the phone call
“I love you baby girl” she added, leaving the room.
A very short time later, I thought of try going to swimming pool to help calm my fear. I picked a jumpsuit from the closet and walked out of the room.
I was on my way to the backyard when I heard a voice from a room downstairs, the room was facing the garden
“Make sure you find a way to kill Richard’s daughter. I don’t want my wife to suspect anything, she’s staying with us and my wife likes her a lot” said the voice
“Uncle Gerald want to kill me, but why?” I yelled in my mind. Imagine a tiny me with hundreds of thoughts and feelings flying over my head like colourful strobes.
I quickly tiptoed back to my room and picked up my phone, I went through the back door where the guards couldn’t see me and ran out of the house
I ran as far as my leg could carry me. I didn’t know for how long I’d been running but I was already getting tired when I looked up to see a car speeding toward my direction. I jumped in another direction but it was too late. Quick as a flash, the car hit my leg and I lost consciousness
