“I’m very upset with you, I missed you so much Ric, don’t you ever leave me for that long again” my twin sister, Ria grumbled, ruffling my hair
“Crazy sis” I murmured
“Don’t you miss me?” Ria quizzed. She frowned, looking at the me as if threatening to punish me
“I missed you crazy sis, can I have some peace?”
She looked behind to see Kohen and got a bit of a shock
“Oh my goodness, who is this hottie?” she inquired displaying her gushy manner
“Too effusive” I gritted my teeth to suppress a laugh.
“I’m Ria Nolan, Ric twin sister” she sounded ebullient and happy
“Kohen, I’m your brother’s bodyguard” Kohen responded, smiling at her
She took his arm and led him to the couch, retreating to the kitchen for some cookies, water, and a bottle of wine
“Brother, you can stay outside when you feel like coming in, the door is open” Ria shouted
“Feisty! she can’t change”
I walked into the living room and saw Dad smiling at our little drama
“I missed you so much son” Dad uttered, his voice conveyed happiness
“I missed you too Dad” I muttered. We exchanged greetings before sitting beside him
“You look more cute son, I can see you enjoyed your stay in Italy” Dad mumbled
Instantly my Dad turned and faced Kohen
“Thanks for taken care of my son over there”
“Don’t mention it – it was a pleasure Mr Nolan” Kohen said in response
Then Dad cleared his throat and began to speak
“Ric I hope you’re ready to get married within the next month. I’m doing this for your own good. Love is a beautiful thing, if you get married to her you will learn to love her one day”
“Dad I don’t like Mia for my brother” Ria stated pouting her lips
“Just shut up Ria! you’re not helping your brother, he doesn’t like females and the best thing is to get married to someone then learn how to love, he cannot continue this way” Dad said coldly
“I also don’t like the girl” I told Dad
“You’ve never like any girl before and that’s why I didn’t reject Mia when Gerald brought the proposal of you getting married to his daughter but if you have any girl you like, tell me about it. You know I will always support you and Ria in any decision you make” Dad voiced his opinion
“I don’t want to get married” I said in a quiet voice
“This situation left you with no option” Dad talked with a straight face
My phone vibrated and I glanced down, smiling to see Jadiel had sent a text
📥 “I’m in your house buddy, where are you?”
“Dad, I’ve got to get going, See you soon” I announced
“I thought you will sleep over, why are you in a hurry?” Ria murmured. She jumped on me, making faces at me
“I am going back to my home” I told her and put her on Dad’s laps, running out of the house while Kohen ran after me
We got in the car and Joe drove off. He’s usually a slow and steady driver, but he had to drive too fast because I didn’t want to keep Jadiel waiting so I said to my driver
“increase car speed”
The car came to an abrupt stop and I looked up to see that Joe had hit a lady
“I’m sorry sir I didn’t see her passing” Joe said and he quickly stepped out of the car to check on the lady
“Sir, she has lost consciousness, can I bring her in?” Joe asked
Without considering if it was a good idea I nodded my head. I should be responsible for his action since he used my car to hit her
He put her gently on the back seat and I shifted to the other side, then dialed our family doctor’s number. Joe slammed the door closed as he slid into the driver’s seat and zoomed off

When we arrived home, Joe lifted her into his arms and carried her to the guest room, lowering her to the bed and walked out of the room
I met doctor Mich in the living room with Jadiel and we exchanged greetings
“Who is she?” Jadiel quizzed
I chuckled enjoying the look of surprise on his face, since he had not seen this side of me
“I don’t know her personally, she was physically struck by my car” I responded, sitting on the couch next to Jadiel while Joe took doctor Mich to the guest room
“Why don’t you take her to the hospital, why did you bring her to your house?” Jadiel inquired
“I didn’t go out with a mask and I do not want the media to see me with a girl in hospital, that will be another scandal. You know they are still looking for me to know why I left the country and seeing me at the public place will make them have access to me” I answered
“I understand you. Anyway the girl is so pretty” Jadiel commented
I scoffed at the notion, forgotten to even look at her face
“Ric, she’s out of danger now” I heard Doctor Mich’s voice, coming downstairs with Joe
Is it something serious?” Jadiel asked
“No, Not really, she only has a minor injury on her leg and she lost consciousness because she hasn’t been sleeping for days but she will be fine. I’ve given her painkillers” Doctor Mich replied and walked out of the house
“Let’s check up on her to make sure she’s safe” Jadiel suggested
“I’m not interested” I told him
“Come on, just to check up on her, remember your car put her in this condition” Jadiel tried to persuade me
I gave up and succumb, not because I wanted to but because I wanted to get away from my nagging friend
When we entered into the guest room, I saw her lying in bed. I must admit that she was so beautiful
“I don’t think this girl is a commoner, see the way she’s glowing and she looks expensive” Jadiel uttered, touching her hair
“I’m attracted to her, I don’t know how I’m feeling but I can’t take my eyes off her, I hope she likes me when she wakes up” Jadiel added, still stroking her hair
“That’s none of my business” I muttered, leaving the room
